State Representative Larry Lee Jr., of the Florida House of Representatives, challenged Southport Middle School ESOL students to continue working hard in school. Students, teachers, and community members came together to celebrate math at the Publix at Rivergate Plaza this past week. Families and friends of Morningside supported students by completing a scavenger hunt where students had to answer math questions based on the different items in the Publix store. It was a wonderful community experience held by our math committee. Way to shine, bluejays!

Bayshore Elementary students celebrated Literacy Week by participating in several activities to construct the foundation of success through reading. Students read to their peers using flashlights and participated in a literacy scavenger hunt. Students were given riddles to solve. Clues were posted around the school. We also hosted a community reading day. Texas Roadhouse, community members, and staff read a book to each class. Finally, we ended our week with a book character or vocabulary word parade.
