At Palm Pointe K-8, kindness isn’t just taught—it’s lived.
Recently, Mrs. Courtney Council shared a powerful classroom experience that celebrated the core principles of Unity Day with her 3rd graders! She saw an opportunity to foster empathy and inclusion on campus, teaching compassion alongside academics.
As part of a unit on equal rights and opportunity—featuring figures like Rosa Parks—students explored the importance of embracing differences and showing generosity. This lesson came to life when the class hand-delivered “BOO” bag treats to their new friends in Mrs. Sagan, Ms. Gagliano, and Mr. Allison’s classes. These simple gestures sparked joy and built bridges of understanding.
“I believe my role as an educator goes beyond academics—it’s also about teaching kindness, empathy, and acceptance,” Council shared, “I’m incredibly proud of my students; they truly made someone’s week brighter.”
This initiative is a shining example of how Palm Pointe fosters a culture of respect, inclusion, and emotional growth. Thank you to our educators and students for making our schools a place where everyone belongs.
