This year’s Literacy Week at Morningside Elementary was an exciting celebration of reading and language! We kicked off the festivities with a vibrant Vocabulary Parade, where students showcased creative costumes representing their favorite words. The highlight was Literacy Family Night, where families gathered for engaging activities and shared their love for books. During Buddy Reading, older students paired with younger ones, fostering a sense of community and mentorship through shared stories. We also welcomed special Guest Readers, including parents and other community members, who inspired students with their personal reading journeys. To cap off the week, everyone donned cozy pajamas on Pajama Day, creating a relaxed atmosphere for reading and sharing stories. It was a wonderful week that ignited a passion for literacy in all!
