FPC Cobra Battalion Committed to a Cleaner Environment

As dawn broke on the morning of Saturday, September 19, 2015, the Fort Pierce Central High JROTC Cobra Battalion held their annual beach cleanup at Pepper Park on North A1A in Fort Pierce. The Fort Pierce Central High JROTC Cobra Battalion is dedicated to helping maintain a clean environment and this event was just one in a series of Cobra Battalion events scheduled for this year that will help achieve that goal. FPC Chorus Performs at Stetson Choral Festival

An elite eight Cobra Chorus members joined their director Mr. Martinez at Stetson University’s Choral Festival on October 6th and 7th. What started out as an early morning road trip to Deland, Florida became a trip of a lifetime. Over two days, chorus students worked with Stetson’s husband and wife team choral directors to workshop four arrangements at the festival’s conclusion. Singing for Stetson choirs and listening to Stetson students perform set an atmosphere of engagement, new connections, and mutual admiration. A Spring to Remember Chorus Director Mr. Eric Martinez closed out another fantastic year of joyful singing and artistry with the FPC Spring Chorus Concert. Audiences were delighted by heart-felt and inspiring selections sung with grace, care, poise, and passion. Mr. Martinez balances performances with the complexity and character that challenges students to rise to the next level as vocal artists. FPC Ceramics Students Perfect Laminar Flow!

If the water was hot, STEAM would be bellowing from these perfectly pouring teapots! STEAM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math. Physics and Geometry are alive and well in the Art turned STEAM studio! FPC Ceramics II Students Dazzle in Texture

Mrs. Avra’s Ceramics II students started off the year by sampling a dozen textures. Texture is an Element of Art that describes and interprets the perceived or actual surface feeling of an object. Students were encouraged to investigate textures from nature by taking a walk outside, exploring their homes from garage to kitchen, and observing textures during their day-to-day lives while filling up a sketchbook page of 12 texture thumbnails, some in color, exploring high contrast, overlapping, depth, and the four qualities of line: thin to thick, light to dark, straight to undulating, and continuous to interrupted. FPC Celebrates the SOUL of Black History!

In honor of Black History Month, FPC faculty and staff shared a thoughtfully prepared Soul Food Luncheon provided by the FPC Sunshine Committee and Cobra Culinary Dept. FPC employees were invited to the Cobra Café to partake in the Soul Food Feast during both lunches. The custom menu honored rich food traditions, favorite dishes, and wonderful desserts. FPC Boys Basketball Team are Champs

District Superintendent Dr. Jon R. Prince and School Board Member Mr. Troy Ingersoll visited the Cobras during a recent practice to congratulate them on their academic and athletic achievements throughout this memorable season. The Fort Pierce Central Boys’ Basketball Team won their first District Championship since 2011 by knocking off 3 straight higher ranked opponents on the road. FPC Bowlers Follow Through to the Last Perfect Frame

Fort Pierce Central bowling teams competed at the State Bowling Tournament in Orlando. Team members brought home the first District title in school history. Boys finished 9th as a team. Charlie Passanante finished 12th in singles. Charlie Passanante rolled a perfect game 300 in the regular season against Somerset Academy who finished 2nd in Districts. Girls: Allison Kepfer and Madison Phillips have a 3-11 record. Boys: Charlie Passanante, Daniel Heidebrecht, Christian White, Nathan Mondo, William Auriemma, Jackson Willette, Nathan Gould, Adriel Alvarez have a 13-1 record for the regular season.

FPC Blood Donations Saving Lives in SLC

The Big Red Buses Visited Cobra Nation The Fort Pierce Medical Academy, OneBlood, and Mrs. Barbara Charles would like to thank the heroes who boarded the Big Red Buses to save lives on Thursday, February 1! Over 200 units of whole blood and many apheresis procedures (removing plasma and/or Red Blood Cells) were collected. On Saturday, March 8th, students from Fort Pierce Central High School’s Beta Club joined forces with local volunteers for the annual “Great American Clean Up,” a nationwide initiative that encourages citizens to roll up their sleeves and work toward a cleaner, greener environment.
