District Champs! The FPC 2022 Flag Football team earned their name in legacy lights! The dream team is comprised of 9th-12th grade friends, sisters, and teammates. From February through April players condition, practice, and put in the effort for greatness. Cobra Families on Campus for SAC, Title I, ELL/ESOL Resources, and Senior Parent Info Session! FPC families were welcomed onto campus by Key Club members. Beginning at 4:00, the School Advisory Council (SAC) inaugural meeting kicked off a full night of information-packed events. Following SAC, dinner was prepared and served by Central’s Culinary Arts program in the cafeteria for families to enjoy. FPC Fall Food Drive

The Sophomore Class at Fort Pierce Central sponsored a Fall Food Drive to benefit the Treasure Coast Food Bank on November 20-24. Freshmen class members collected the most with 127lbs of the 387lbs of food collected.

The Fort Pierce Central High School Family has made celebrating together a time-honored touchpoint in our school year. The capstone event is the Poinsettia Luncheon catered by the Cobra Culinary department. Mrs. Donnelly dips her fruit skewer into the lusciously flowing chocolate fountain. FPC Exceptionalities Class Cooking Up Success

On Monday, August 25, students in Ms. Baechle’s 5th-period class rolled up their sleeves for a deliciously hands-on culinary experience. As part of their ongoing curriculum focused on essential life and employment skills, students learned how to prepare donuts using biscuit dough—a simple yet effective introduction to basic cooking techniques. The activity included crafting both vanilla and chocolate glazes from scratch, allowing students to explore flavor combinations and practice measuring, mixing, and timing. FPC & Embry-Riddle are Ready for Take-Off!

Fort Pierce Central High School’s Embry-Riddle program took off to the Treasure Coast International Airport on October 25th. Four sections of classes, in total of 21 students, were hosted by Turbine Works, a company specializing in complex aircraft maintenance and aerodynamic modifications. The experience was enhanced by students getting an invitation from the owners of two adjacent businesses that remodel interiors and provide avionic services. The Fort Pierce Central Medical Academy partnered with One Blood to host a blood drive on Thursday, October 26, in the FPC auditorium. Thank you to the heroes who boarded the Big Red Buses to save lives. Every two seconds someone needs blood in our country (American Red Cross, 2023). Fort Pierce Central High School Culinary Cobras catered and served at the annual fundraising event for the Democratic Club of SLC on May 6th at the River Walk in Fort Pierce. The goal of the event was to support and promote voter registration and the right of all St. Lucie County citizens, no matter race, background, or political affiliation, to vote in county, state, and national elections. FPC Advanced Culinary Students cooked and served dinner and desserts for the annual fundraising event of the Democratic Club of St. Lucie County at River Walk in Fort Pierce on Friday, May 6, 2022. The meal included:  antipasto charcuterie board, fruit salad, tossed salad, roast pork loin with an apple/bacon/onion sauce, roast turkey with herb gravy, roasted vegetable medley, parmesan butter mashed potatoes, pasta station cooked to order with marinara sauce, or alfredo sauce, and assorted desserts made by Culinary 1 Students.

The Fort Pierce Central High School Culinary Department’s advanced class contributed significantly to the fundraising event at Hutchinson Shores Resort and Spa in Jensen Beach on October 19, 2023. This event was an initiative sponsored by the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association Treasure Coast Chapter to raise money for high school scholarships across the Treasure Coast. Our Community’s Future is Rich through Cooking, Diversity, & Inclusion. In March of this year, students in Mrs. Swertfager’s Culinary Arts 1 class at Fort Pierce Central High School, read a brochure called “Roots to Recipes” to celebrate Women in History month. The brochure was given to Mrs. Swertfager by Doris Tillman, the manager of Fort Pierce Main Street. Stories in the brochure highlight immigrant women who moved to Seattle and opened businesses centered around culinary arts.   The end of the year staff meeting at Fort Pierce Central High School was more than a yearly wrap-up. This year, FPC’s Student Government Association (SGA) hosted the first annual Crystal Apple Awards. FPC Creative Writing Club: A New Chapter

A New Year, A New Cobra Way Fort Pierce Central High School’s Creative Writing Club (CWC) was started in 2014 by Kelly Addams, a former FPC student and teacher. CWC was created to give students a place to share their writing. Mrs. McPhee has historically taught the only Creative Writing course on campus, so in 2015 Ms. Addams and a student in that class had an idea. FPC Creative Photo Students Using the Elements of Art in the Elements

Mrs. Minden’s Creative Photography students are working on the Element of Art, Shape in Photography. In their lesson, the students have been instructed to use people as their subjects and to “think outside the box.” The students enjoy working outside using their creativity to meet the requirements of the assignment. Each student is responsible for orchestrating their subjects to create the perfect shape for their photo composition.
