District Champs! The FPC 2022 Flag Football team earned their name in legacy lights! The dream team is comprised of 9th-12th grade friends, sisters, and teammates. Palm Pointe 2nd Graders Learn about Butterflies

For the past 3 weeks, Palm Pointe second graders have been learning about the life cycle of a butterfly. Students researched and wrote about the 4 stages of a butterfly metamorphosis. Finally, students were elated to observe butterflies in their natural habitat. Our community field trip gave our kids the opportunity to witness the signs of spring through a scavenger hunt at the Butterfly Garden in Bedford Park.

FPC Winners from Annual Arts & Essay Contest

Fort Pierce Central students accepted awards and honors at the annual Black History Creative Arts and Essay Contest from Florida’s Southern District Court. Winners include Gabriela Menjivar $300- 1st prize and Tyler Corey $150- 2nd prize. Mrs. Denise Peschio is very proud of our Cobras!  

Senior Pep Rally & Field Day at FPWA

Fort Pierce Westwood Academy Seniors enjoyed a spectacular pep rally and field day! Tug of war, an obstacle course, and the hula hoop shuffle were just a few of the fun activities planned! The day was spent celebrating the amazing class of 2023!!

Career & Technical Education Entrepreneurship Showcase

The SLW Centennial High School’s Navy JROTC Navy Eagles “Black Talon” Company held its Annual Military Ball on Friday, April 14th, 2023.  The “Black Talon” Unit held the event at the Hutchinson Shores Resort and Spa located in Jensen Beach. Palm Pointe First Graders are “Down on the Farm”

First-grade students at Palm Pointe had a fun morning on the farm as they rotated through three stations – the Feeding Trough, Billy Goats Problem Solving, and Old MacDonald’s Farm, where students met Farmer MacDonald himself. It was a great morning of learning about farms, animals, and crops using our math and reading strategies!

PSLHS Culinary Students Compete at SkillsUSA

Three Port St. Lucie High School culinary students participated in the SkillsUSA State Competition. They each prepared, cooked, and presented a three-course meal all in a timed setting while competing against high school students from across Florida in the SkillsUSA States in Jacksonville, FL Chef Roland Foerster, PSLHS Culinary Instructor was beyond proud of the trio who went far above expectations.

FPWA MOA Students Take Learning to the Keys

Fort Pierce Westwood Academy MOA Juniors went on a camping field trip to the Florida Keys. They camped at Big Pine Key Fishing Lodge. Students were excited to see the endangered animals (Key Deer, etc) and in addition to being self-sufficient (cooking for themselves and setting up their tents), they had the opportunity to snorkel out of Big Pine on Looe Key. There they had the chance to explore a protected coral reef and see a diverse set of animals including manta rays, reef sharks, parrot fish, and more. West Gate K-8’s Educational Garden is Getting a Facelift

West Gate K-8 faculty and staff are partnering with UF IFAS Family Nutrition Program, PTO, SLPS Child Nutrition Services, and the Department of Health to RE-vitalize the campus garden. Our goal is to provide farm-to-table experiences for all of our students with an emphasis on healthy living.   We received our first donations and are on our way to a beautiful educational space on our campus. The Jaguar Battalion Excels at States

On Saturday, April 15th, the Port Saint Lucie High School JROTC Jaguar Battalion competed in the Florida State Drill meet at George Jenkins High School after placing 1st in the Area 3 Drill Meet in Jupiter. Our Female and Male teams competed against 120+ of the best JROTC programs in the state of Florida. We competed in Unarmed/Armed Squad, Unarmed/Armed Platoon, Solo, Dual, Squad, and Platoon Exhibition Drill. The competition went fantastic as the Port Saint Lucie High School JROTC Jaguar Battalion managed to achieve multiple top 10 finishes and finish the JROTC drill season on a positive note.

Palm Pointe Art Students Create Recycled Material Masterpiece

Palm Pointe Middle School art students worked hard to create a beautiful recycling art project.  It took two months and over 900 water bottles all from our school, that would have gone in the trash/landfill. This gorgeous piece of artwork will be displayed at the Oxbow Ecocenter in celebration of Earth Day at their festival on April 22nd. There are expected to be over 7,000 attendees!  Way to go Mrs. Wessel and the Palm Pointe artists for turning trash into treasure!

Oak Hammock K8 First Grade Students Performs the “Unity Tree”

        In a world where dogs and cats are at odds with each other, a kitty and puppy show that friendship can change everything! The first-grade students did an excellent job performing the Unity Tree. Mrs. Allen and the students worked tirelessly preparing for this performance and the students rocked the house.

SLPS Wears Blue for Autism Acceptance and Awareness Month

The Speech-Language Pathologists showed their support for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders by wearing blue for Autism Acceptance and Awareness Month. 1 in 36 children are diagnosed with ASD according to a 2020 report by the CDC.  Speech-language pathologists work with students with Autism to help improve their pragmatic language and functional communication skills.
