Port St. Lucie Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion in Veterans Day Memorial Ceremony

On Sunday November 11, 2018, Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion participated in the Veterans Day Memorial Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park. All cadets who attended demonstrated reverence and gratitude towards veterans and those we lost. Overall, the ceremony was a great learning experience for cadets, and students were moved by various speeches given by known members of our community. The Lions Club Donates to Mariposa Elementary

Mariposa Elementary 2nd grade students received the generous donation of free dictionaries from The Lions Club. The students love their dictionaries, and they are putting them to good use. Thank you for such a useful and appreciated donation.       

Palm Pointe Enchanted Forest Book Fair

Palm Pointe students and parents really enjoyed our Fall Book Fair.  The theme this year is the Enchanted Forest.  Many dedicated parent volunteers gave of their time and talents to transform our the Media Center into a magical land filled with books and surprises.  Gnomes, fairies, and unicorns were hiding around every corner.  The fair ran from November the 5th through November the 15th.  

PSLHS Jaguar Battalion Honors Veterans by Presenting the Colors at St. Andrews

The Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion had the honor of presenting the colors to pay homage to veterans at Saint Andrew’s Lutheran Church located at 295 SW Prima Vista Blvd. in Port St. Lucie. Thirteen! The Musical – Lincoln Park Academy Theater

The first weekend of November, Lincoln Park Academy Theater presented 13! The Musical. Over the course of seven months, the students worked diligently to learn a plethora of lines, harmonies, and choreography that resulted in an immensely fun and honest performance and a close family bond between cast and crew. This heartwarming show of friendship and morals brought the audience to their feet in applause. It’s safe to say, this hilarious piece of theater was a tremendous toe-tapping success!

Surf Champion and Outstanding Student

Meet Maddy Polina Malizia in the November edition of Eye on St. Lucie. Polina, as she likes to be called, is a successful student at St. Lucie Virtual School who also bears the distinction of the Russian Federation National Woman’s Surf Champion. Your host, Kerry Padrick, will speak with her and with Jeanne Ziemba, Polina’s St. Lucie Virtual School principal, to find out how this impressive young champion successfully balances academics and international sports championships.  

FPCHS Students Use Drone Technology For Safety

Fort Pierce Central High School students use drone technology to keep fellow students safe. Students in Fort Pierce Central High School’s Embry Riddle Aeronautical University program are working in collaboration with the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office. These amazing students are using drone technology to improve safety on our campus. This is an ongoing project and we are excited to see the next phase. Northport Commemorates Veterans Day, As Always!

Northport hosted a contingency of veterans from American Legion, Post 318 and Vietnam Veterans, Chapter 566 for a panel discussion for a commemoration of Veterans Day. The program began with second grade students from Jennifer Lusardi’s class leading the Pledge of Allegiance and giving a special salute to our veterans. Miss Lusardi’s father, Joe Lusardi. was one of the honored guests for the morning panel. Drama students from Allison Barajas’ class sang moving renditions of The National Anthem and God Bless America. Handwritten poetry was read by students from Mrs. Flores’ class. Morningside Elementary School’s Veterans Day Ceremony Color Guard

On Wednesday November 7, 2018, Port St. Lucie High School’s Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion’s color guard presented the national colors as students said the Pledge of Allegiance and sang the National Anthem. Opening the Morningside Elementary Veterans Day Ceremony and commanding the color guard was Cadet Sergeant Lawrence Moleon Mathews accompanied by Cadet Command Sergeant Major as state flag bearer, Cadet Sergeant Justin Bennett as national guard, and Cadet Sergeant Michael Schmitt as state guard. Veterans were welcomed into the cafeteria where they sat down and enjoyed various students sing songs and thank them for their service.

Kids At Hope

WCE students participated in the Kids at Hope Tunnel.  Students were cheered on by staff and community members as they were reminded that they are capable of success.    

LPA Band Student Cameron Slack to All-State

Lincoln Park Academy senior band student Cameron Slack has been selected to perform in the Florida Music Education Association All-State Symphony Orchestra. He will be performing at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa on Saturday, January 12th. Congratulations!  

SLWK-8 Celebrates Perfect FSA Scores with Limo Lunch

Congratulations to the following students who earned a perfect score on FSA last year and were treated to a limo ride to lunch on November 5th: 4th grader, Maria Nolasco 8th grader, Roseanne Rodriguez 8th grader, Ryan Rodriguez The students were accompanied by their parents and the SLWK-8 Administration for this special lunch!

Northport Celebration For School Improvement Goal!

This year, as part of our Northport School Improvement Plan, one of our important goals is to raise attendance rates. We are determined to get our students into school so that our achievement levels will rise. We celebrated with a popcorn and movie party today with parties for grades 3 through 8 for all students who earned Perfect Attendance for the first quarter. Mariposa Elementary’s Brandon Roth Receives the Citizen Hero Award

Mariposa Elementary’s Fifth Grader, Brandon Roth, took action to help another during difficult times, and he was recognized for his actions by the St. Lucie County Fire District with a Citizen Hero Award. Brandon Roth was riding his hoverboard to a friend’s home in Port St. Lucie to play when he noticed a woman was on the ground lying unconscious by her front door.  He investigated and saw that she was in real trouble.  He flagged down a passing car and told them what he saw and asked them to call 911.  They did and Brandon waited by the woman until … Read More

Northport and FPC Collaborate in the Kitchen!

Northport’s 8th grade culinary students visited the advanced culinary classes at Fort Pierce Central High School. Central’s Chef Jesse Strell, in coordination with Ms. Rachel Savela, brought their students together to mentor and learn together. Northport students learned how to make a roux and many knife skills including the Rondelle cut.

Dads Take Your Child to School Day

WCE Dads enjoyed breakfast with their students.  WCE Dads signed a pledge to support the staff, students, and the overall school community by staying involved and ensuring that education remains a top priority.

SGAET Gears Up

Samuel S. Gaines Academy of Emerging Technologies (SGAET) received a facelift in the cafeteria.  Students and staff were excited to see the fresh new design that coincides with the school’s STEM focus.
