Education’s Shining Stars Announced

In a grand event held on Saturday, February 4th, St. Lucie Public Schools (SLPS) and the Education Foundation of St. Lucie County announced this year’s line-up of educational superstars.  Anna Babcock took top honors as St. Lucie Public School’s Teacher of the Year.  She is an elementary gifted education teacher at Fairlawn Elementary School.  Joining her as winners were School Related Employee of the Year, Jo Anne Padon, a School Media Clerk at Fairlawn Elementary School, Distinguished Minority Educator of the Year, Kim Herring-Nance, a social studies teacher at Fort Pierce Central High School; and Outstanding First Year Teacher Emily Morgan, a music teacher … Read More

The SLPS Talent Development Department had an amazing day with new teachers on the first of five Refining and Improving Starting Educators (RISE) 2 days for 2022-2023! Commissioner’s Academic Challenge

Celebrating the SLPS Schools of Excellence

Congratulations to our Schools of Excellence; Fairlawn Elementary School, Palm Pointe K-8 Educational Research School, and Mosaic Digital Academy! The State Board of Education designates a school as a School of Excellence if the school’s percentage of possible points earned in its school grade calculation is in the 80th percentile or higher for schools comprised of the same grade groupings (elementary, middle, high and combination) for at least two of the last three school years.

2022-2023 SLPS College Fair

Join St. Lucie Public Schools on Thursday, November 3rd, for the annual college fair from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Havert L. Fenn Center. Over 50 college and university representatives will be there to meet with prospective students. You will also be able to participate in financial aid sessions to get valuable information about paying for college. SLPS students in grades 9 through 12 are encouraged to attend. Have your questions answered by college and university reps as you speak with them one-on-one. See you at the SLPS College Fair!
