On Monday, January 15, 2024, St. Lucie Public Schools, along with SLPS Superintendent and Board Members, participated in Fort Pierce’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade. The theme of this year was “Dream, Believe, Achieve” and was Grand Marshaled by Dr. Keven G. Perry and Dr. Christine Taylor. Schools honored Dr. King and his dreams of equality by creating floats that showcased his principles of racial equality and nonviolent social change. Thank you to all the schools and students who participated.
In addition to the parade, the MLK Week of Kindness winners were announced. The Week of Kindness was sponsored by the Treasure Coast Charmettes and the participants were from schools, churches, and other organizations. The winners were chosen based on the quality of acts of kindness demonstrated during that week as well as how many people were impacted by the acts of kindness.
Congratulations to all the winners!
