Celebrating Literacy Week at Bayshore Elementary

Bayshore Elementary students celebrated Literacy Week by participating in several activities to construct the foundation of success through reading. Students read to their peers using flashlights and participated in a literacy scavenger hunt. Students were given riddles to solve. Clues were posted around the school. We also hosted a community reading day. Texas Roadhouse, community members, and staff read a book to each class. Finally, we ended our week with a book character or vocabulary word parade. Monthly Attendance Challenge at Bayshore Elementary

At Bayshore Elementary, we are excited to recognize and reward excellent attendance through our Monthly Attendance Challenge! Each month, the class with the highest attendance percentage earns the honor of displaying the Attendance Trophy on their classroom door. In addition to the trophy, the winning class also receives class-wide PBIS bucks, which can be used for special rewards and activities. Guest Readers Visit Mariposa for Literacy Week

Mariposa is Leveling Up in 2025! Mariposa celebrated Literacy Week by exploring the world of books and the power of reading! Big Brothers Big Sisters Reads visited K-2 classrooms, inspiring a love for literacy through engaging read-alouds. Special guests, including SLC Commissioner Jame Fowler, local police deputies, and dedicated community volunteers, joined in to share stories and encourage young readers. Their presence made the event even more memorable, highlighting the importance of reading in children’s lives. The week was filled with excitement, fostering a deeper appreciation for books and storytelling while bringing the community together to support early literacy development. 

The Jaguar Battalion’s 30th Military Ball

On Saturday, January 25th, 2025, the Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion conducted its 30th Annual Military Ball at the Santa Lucia River Club. Male Cadets wore their Class A Uniform, and female cadets wore formal gowns. Our Jaguar Battalion Color Guard posted the colors to begin the formal portion of the ceremony.
