A Spring to Remember Chorus Director Mr. Eric Martinez closed out another fantastic year of joyful singing and artistry with the FPC Spring Chorus Concert. Audiences were delighted by heart-felt and inspiring selections sung with grace, care, poise, and passion. Mr. Martinez balances performances with the complexity and character that challenges students to rise to the next level as vocal artists. Congratulations for another successful year with much to be proud of and celebrated!  

FPC NHS Induction Ceremony

National Honor Society Inductions of new members are important to all organizations. Members make the difference. Since 1921, NHS thrives in leadership, character, service, and scholarship. So, what makes NHS different? SLW Centennial HS NAVY JROTC Awards Night and Change of Command

The SLW Centennial High School’s Navy JROTC “Black Talon” Company held its Annual End of the Year Awards Night Ceremony on Friday, May 5th, 2023 in the school’s auditorium. Education Foundation Scholarship Awards Ceremony at Fort Pierce Central High School

On Monday, May 1st the Education Foundation held a Reception followed by a Ceremony to recognize senior students graduating from St. Lucie County Public High Schools who demonstrated exemplary Academic performance and Leadership. The Education Foundation awarded 55 scholarships totaling 69,000 dollars in scholarships to students. Scholarships through the Education Foundation provide an opportunity to help students continue to succeed after graduation and assist them with pursuing post-secondary education goals. We are so proud of each of them and wish them success in their futures!

Culinary Cooks at Cinco de Mayo

Culinary students from St Lucie West Centennial, Port St Lucie High, Fort Pierce Westwood Academy, and Northport K8 cooked up a storm at the Cinco de Mayo event hosted by Monarch Country Club. Students researched the recipes, created the ingredient lists, prepped, cooked and worked with Monarch’s Chef James and Sous Chef Don to create a delicious Mexican dinner. Mosaic Digital Academy 5th Graders Rock Saturday with a Scientist

5th graders throughout St. Lucie County took a deep dive into science during “Saturday with a Scientist”. Five students from Mosaic Digital Academy were chosen to experience this unique opportunity hosted by IRSC at the Pruitt Campus. Topics explored were Geology, Ocean Acidification, and DNA extraction. During the Geology components, students compared features of igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks and were able to identify meteors based on their magnetic qualities. Students conducted an experiment mimicking Ocean Acidification to examine the effects of how carbon dioxide impacts ocean pH levels having a negative impact on marine life. Mosaic Digital Academy Explore St. Lucie County Aquarium and Historical Museum

Mosaic Digital Academy students in grades k-5 explored living models of Florida marine and estuarine ecosystems while learning about the importance and intricacies of each including coral reefs, seagrass, mangrove, lagoon hardbottom, and nearshore reef habitats at the St. Lucie County Aquarium. Students were also afforded the opportunity to get a glimpse at the foundation of our community, from our earliest known residents, the Ais Indians to the Creek and later the Seminoles. Students also traced the rise of the fishing industry and the failed efforts at making us the “Pineapple Capital of the World”.

SLWK8’s Track and Field Team Place in Top Three

St. Lucie West K-8 School’s boys and girls Track & Field members did a phenomenal job Saturday through their efforts, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Both teams placed 3rd overall. Two St. Lucie County Teachers Selected to Attend Geology Camp

5th grade teacher at Mosaic Digital Academy, Marsha Mimnaugh, and Earth Space Science & AP Environmental instructor at Port St. Lucie High, Michael Mimnaugh, have been selected from a pool of nationwide applicants to attend “G-Camp” this summer through Texas A&M’s Geology and Geophysics department. G-Camp is a 14-day field camp for 5th – 12th grade science teachers that provides first-hand experience with the principles of Geology in the field. National Junior Honor Society students came together to deliver coffee and a sweet treat to teachers to show their appreciation for all that they do. Their hard work and dedication are a direct result of the leadership that they have fallen under from teachers. They showed compassion and kindness as they worked tirelessly to serve the staff. LPA’s Senior Mia Morrison Wins Again

We are so excited to share that LPA’s own, Mia Morrison, was selected as the 2023 Saint Lucie County Youth of the Year for Boys & Girls Clubs of Saint Lucie County and the 2023 Florida State Youth of the Year for the Boys & Girls Clubs for the second year in a row!  Mia is the first youth to garner these distinguished wins in succession.  Congratulations on doing a stellar job!

This year the St. Lucie Education Foundation provided teachers at St. Lucie Elementary with something special to celebrate and show them how much we appreciate them. 110 teachers who work tirelessly to educate our students each day, received reusable shopping bags and pens from the Education Foundation. The Education Foundation wants to thank the teachers for making a difference in the lives of their students and for having a positive impact on their learning process!

SLW Centennial HS Navy JROTC Participates in Do-You-Give-A-Ruck “Battle of the Branches” Obstacle Course Event

  The SLW Centennial High School’s Navy JROTC “Black Talon” Company participated in the Do-You-Give-A-Ruck “Battle of the Branches” Veteran’s Benefit Obstacle Course on Saturday, April 29th, 2023. The event benefits veterans by donating non-perishable food items as well as provide housing for homeless veterans in the area. There were four “Black Talon” teams that participated. SOMS Math Boot Camp

Southern Oaks Middle School Math Boot Camp was a success! We had 72 students attend on Saturday, April 29th. Our SOMS’s math experts provided our students with short and focused math workshops to help our students improve their F.A.S.T. math skills. In addition, our students enjoyed grilled hotdogs, compliments of administration, to end the day with a celebration of their efforts and success on the upcoming state assessments.
