Kindergarten Pinning celebrated at Palm Pointe

This celebration was to recognize the kindergarten students and celebrate all that they had learned in their first year at Palm Pointe. Now, they are soon to be first graders and enjoyed celebrating with their families on this special occasion.

Kindergarten Online Open Enrollment

St. Lucie Public Schools (SLPS) Kindergarten open enrollment is scheduled to re-open with 24/7 online access.  The registration window will begin on May 20, 2019 and remain open until June 21, 2019.  Students entering kindergarten must be five years on or before September 1, 2019.   According to SLPS Student Assignment Director Michelle Jerger, “We understand that selecting a school for a child is a very important decision. Kindergarten Loves Apples at Mariposa Elementary

Mrs. Kari McIntyre’s Kindergarten class at Mariposa Elementary enjoyed Apple Center Day! The children had a wonderful time using their 5 senses to explore apples. Mrs. McIntyre spent 3-weeks having the students learn about the 5-senses, specifically what, why, and how we use them. Through reading, writing, science, and math, the children were able to explore apples and create apple projects based on their findings. In the picture, Ayva Bonacchi is sharing her apple project with her grandmother, Dorothy Bonacchi. It was a fun day of learning!

Kindergarten Celebrates Joining of Letters at Palm Pointe

Kindergarten students at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition celebrated the joining of the letters Q and U as in “quack” and “quick.”  They also held a ceremony for other consonants that frequently go together in words such as sh, ch, wh and th. What a beautiful occasion to commemorate these unions.

Kindergarten Career Day in Action at Fairlawn Elementary

Fairlawn Elementary’s kindergarten classes recently celebrated their 3rd Annual Career Day, bringing learning to life through the school’s “Play with Purpose” curriculum. The event was a fun and meaningful way for students to explore the world of work while building confidence, creativity, and communication skills. The highlight of the day was a lively fashion show, where students proudly dressed up as the careers they dream of pursuing. Kinder Kiddos Learn About Johnny Appleseed with Math

The Kinder Kiddos in Mrs. Turners’ class at Windmill Point Elementary had a Johnny Appleseed Celebration!!  The students were able to taste, observe, and test different apple treats.   The students were able to chart which was their favorite type of apple and as a class, they tallied the winner. The class also did a greater than, less than, and equal to activity with the numbers!!  It was a great way to start the Fall season. s.

FORT PIERCE – The Susan Broom Kilmer Branch Library’s ArtSpace hosts works by Fort Pierce native Andre Barnes Sept. 1-19. Currently teaching art Samuel Gaines Academy in Fort Pierce, Barnes has worked for more than 15 years as an art instructor in the Leon and Gadsden County Public School systems. He has a degree in Fine Arts with a minor in Graphic Arts from Florida A&M University. Kids at Hope founder makes surprise visit to Gaines Academy

Kids at Hope founder Rick Miller recently made a surprise visit to Catie Smith’s fifth grade class at Gaines Academy. The class had written Mr. Miller a letter during their language arts class stating how much they loved the way Kids at Hope has made a difference for them. Rick decided to respond in person!

Kids at Hope Celebrates 10 Years in SLC

Kids at Hope Founder Rick Miller and staff members from St. Lucie Elementary and Weatherbee Elementary celebrate 10 years of Kids at Hope in St. Lucie County. The Roundtable of St. Lucie County and Miller recently facilitated a Kids at Hope symposium in the District where it was proudly announced that 36 schools are trained and actively participating in the program that touts All Children Are Capable Of Success — No Exceptions.

KidMania Event

St. Lucie Public Schools engaged the entire family in learning at the KidMania event on Sunday, October 20th. Families learned how to help their child improve their reading through a variety of activities.
