FORT PIERCE – The Susan Broom Kilmer Branch Library’s ArtSpace hosts works by Fort Pierce native Andre Barnes Sept. 1-19.
Currently teaching art Samuel Gaines Academy in Fort Pierce, Barnes has worked for more than 15 years as an art instructor in the Leon and Gadsden County Public School systems. He has a degree in Fine Arts with a minor in Graphic Arts from Florida A&M University.
Barnes has done illustrations for four children’s books as well as murals for schools, the city of Tallahassee and art fashions for some celebrity clients. He has created works using the mediums of graphite pencil, colored pencil, pastels, watercolor acrylic paint and airbrush.
