Palm Pointe “Starbooks” Cafe Book Tasting

Palm Pointe 7th grade ELA students did a “Starbooks” Haunted Cafe Book Tasting on October 31st. Students rotated around to tables with different genres that they have already experienced in class. Students “tasted” or previewed the books by rating the front and back covers, reading the first couple of pages, and giving it an overall rating. Additionally, students got to indulge in some tasty hot chocolate!

Jaguar Battalions Second Blood Drive

On Tuesday, November 14, the Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion conducted our second Blood Drive of the year. With the help of our Cadets, we were given an opportunity to help serve the people of Port Saint Lucie. Thanks to our Cadets, members of One Blood, and teachers here at Port Saint Lucie High School, we were able to get enough blood to save over 150+ lives. Also special thanks to our principal Ms. Nicole Telese and other teachers who donated.

CAST Animal Habitats

Second-grade students in Mrs. Bell and Ms. Simmons’ classes created animal habitats after studying about them during reading. As a culminating activity, both classes will present an animal report to our kindergarten and first-grade students. We can’t wait to listen to their presentations.

SLW Centennial NAVY JROTC Cleans Up the Community

Every month the SLW Centennial High School’s NJROTC “Black Talon” Navy Eagles Company performs “Adopt-A-Street” and “Campus Clean-up” operations on a one-and-a-half-mile section of Cashmere Boulevard as well as the SLW Centennial High School Campus. This tradition has been in place for over 16 years and has contributed to thousands of pounds a trash being removed from the streets and campus around SLW Centennial High School and it’s neighborhood. Lincoln Park Academy Violinist Giselle Cisneros Arana chosen for All State High School Honors Orchestra

Lincoln Park Academy is proud to announce that violinist Giselle Arana Cisneros, grade 10 has been selected to perform in this year’s Florida Orchestra Association All State High School Honors Orchestra in Tampa during the January Music Teachers’ Professional Development.  She will be performing with other students from the state in grades 9-12.  This makes it four years in a row that Giselle has been selected for All State!  The Lincoln Park Academy Orchestras are under the direction of Ms. Laura Hopkins.

Central’s Bowlers Compete at State!

All of Cobra Nation is proud of William Auriemma, Christian Whitte, and Coach Rymer of our Fort Pierce Central’s State Qualifying 2023 Bowling Team! The District only takes 2 single qualifiers each year and Central secured both spots. Congratulations Cobras!

Morningside Elementary’s Thanksgiving Day Literacy Parade!

Students in the third-grade enrichment MTSS class created their own Thanksgiving Day Parade. Students researched and wrote scripts, created their costumes, and brought in props. Then, students used a green screen to create their own version of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Floresta’s Esperanza Rising Up Ceremony

Mrs. Madorma’s fifth graders enjoyed a read-aloud of the book Esperanza Rising Up.  As a culminating activity, the class participated in a special Rising Up Ceremony and a Taco luncheon.  Students created symbolic roses with statements of how they will “rise up”.  Students also practiced their public speaking skills during a class-wide presentation.

LPA NJHS Empowering the Future

National Junior Honor Society students unite to combat hunger, one can at a time. Students used communication skills to spread awareness about the reality of hunger in our world. A total of 389 non-perishable food items were collected.  Way to go Greyhounds!!! 🌟🥫 #NJHS #CommunityService #EndHunger

Butterflies at Village Green

Mrs. Price’s 2nd graders studied the metamorphosis of butterflies during their life cycle. The second graders were able to observe the changes butterflies go through from the egg to the adult stage and how butterflies develop different structures that help them meet their basic needs in very different ways. Once the butterflies became adults Mrs. Price and her students set them free in the Village Green Garden.

Marching Cobras Earn Superiors at MPA

Fort Pierce Central High School Band Program earned Straight Superiors at the District 13 Marching Band Music Performance Assessment at Jensen Beach High School October 28th, 2023.  Mr. Joshua Daniels is the director of bands and the Marching Cobras. The band staff includes assistant band director Emily Morgan, Percussion Instructor Christopher Ketcham, Winds Tech Derek Nierenberg, and Color Guard Coach Leigh Ann Rutter. Savanna Ridge Elementary’s Fall Math Competition

Savanna Ridge Elementary hosted our Fall Math Competition for grades K-5. Students in each grade level participated in the competition filled with grade-level math skill questions. Students enjoyed competing against their classmates and look forward to our upcoming Spring Math Competition.

Fairlawn’s Turkey Hunt

Second-grade students at Fairlawn Elementary School completed an academics-based turkey escape room prior to the Thanksgiving break.  Students completed a series of tasks, from multi-digit addition to word riddles to help the Turkeys escape being Thanksgiving dinner.  Gobble Gobble.

Oak Hammock K8 School Celebrates Veterans

Veterans at Oak Hammock K8 gathered and shared stories as they enjoyed a continental breakfast from Panera Bread to celebrate Veteran’s Day. Veterans Day is the day set aside to thank and honor those who served honorably in the military. Students and staff Leveled Up Learning and provided Veterans with letters, tokens of appreciation, and accolades throughout the day. The administrators and the entire Osprey Family at OHK8 say “Thank you for your Service”. Happy Veterans Day!
