On April 3 Principal Gardner and representatives from the Fort Pierce Central High School Exceptional Student Education department (Jocelyn Gumbs, Deana Hadley, and Jeannette Baechle) visited Indian River State College to learn more about the Project STAGE program. They were given a tour of the campus, and they heard from Project STAGE students about the students’ experiences in the program. Lawnwood Families Attended a Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) Family Night

The Lawnwood Leadership Team hosted a PM3 Parent Night where parents learned about Florida’s statewide standardized assessments in English Language Arts (ELA) Reading, Writing, and Mathematics, which align with the Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Standards. The Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST), covering VPK through grade 10 ELA Reading and VPK through grade 8 Mathematics assessments, is administered three times per year as a progress monitoring assessment. On a recent visit to Florida Atlantic University (FAU) and Florida International University (FIU), basketball players from SLW Centennial had the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of Division 1 (D1) basketball. The Office of Teaching and Learning’s Secondary Programs took another amazing group of students from the class of 2026 to tour Florida Atlantic University on March 27th. Bayshore recently hosted student-led conferences with strong support from the community and the SLPS district office. Students had the opportunity to discuss their unit assessment data, PM data, and goals for PM 3 data with their parents, teachers, or staff.
