Bayshore’s Mental Health Awareness Night

Bayshore recently hosted a Mental Health Awareness night, bringing together students, families, and staff to promote mental well-being. Counselors Ms. Alexander, Ms. Cesar, Ms. Mora, Ms. Jones the School Based Mental Health Counselor, Ms. Bonner the school psychologist, and Ms. Napoleon the school social worker, along with teachers, each had booths offering valuable mental health resources. The iMind booth, a community resource for mental health, and Ms. Benton, the Life Skills Parent Educator, provided parent resources. Activities included making calm-down water bottles with glitter, stress balls from beans and balloons, board games, mandala coloring, kindness bingo, bracelet making, and more. The first 50 students received free game play at Dave and Busters. Ms. Murphy and Ms. Archer managed the front door, while Ms. De Graaf and Ms. Petruff served pizza and facilitated kindness bingo. Ms. Enoch and Ms. Pank facilitated calming bottle activities, and Ms. Kinsey and Deputy K handled the prize table. It was a night where each student and their family went home with resources to support their mental health.
