2022 Field Day Legacy Owl Trophy Winner!

On Friday, April 22nd, 2022, Mosaic Digital Academy 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students participated in the school’s first annual Field Day event. Teachers, students, and families gathered at McChesney Park to participate in Earth Day-themed events such as the Water Savers Race, Save the Endangered Wood Stork Egg Challenge, and the Pizza Box Recycle Relay. Field Day classics like the Potato Sac and Wheelbarrow Races were also entertaining and competitive challenges for owl students. Mosaic Owls Exploring the Anatomy of a Frog

Mosaic Digital Academy instructor, Mrs. Linton, offered her 8th Graders the opportunity to participate in frog dissection lab experiences on campus this week. This introduction to vertebrate anatomy and mature body systems provided students the opportunity to explore the anatomy of the frog while engaging in discussions about adaptations and how anatomical structures are related to their functions.  #MosaicOwlsLoveScience #VirtualStudents #LabDayFun

Mrs. Thomaselli decided to head to the park where she met up with her 3rd Grade students to develop learning concepts further! When students took the 3rd Grade FSA Practice Test on campus earlier in the month, Mrs. Thomaselli analyzed the practice test results and created fun outdoor review activities to deepen learning on the concepts students struggled with most. It’s a LIVE DAY Thing!

Mosaic Digital Academy Middle School students came to campus for an engaging and fun-filled learning experience with peers and their online teachers. Our on-campus days are affectionately called “LIVE DAYS” and oh boy did it live up to its name! Dr. Purnell’s English Language Arts lesson delved into characterization since students are working on writing their own stories in 7th and 8th grade in their online course. Mrs. Dana Tillberg, School Counselor at Mosaic Digital Academy, has been hosting a “Get My Job” series via zoom since the beginning of November.  The series is designed to provide students with opportunities to interact with professionals to provide more in-depth knowledge about career paths and real-life experiences and ultimately to learn what it takes to “get their job.”  The target audience is students in Grades 7-12. Congratulations to Adam Morgan (11th Grader) at Mosaic Digital Academy for earning the prestigious Eagle Scout accomplishment! Mosaic Digital Academy Students Participate in Writers’ Workshop

Mosaic Digital Academy middle and high school students participated in a FSA Writers’ Workshop with their instructor, Mrs. Amanda Kiefer, this week and became experts at using the State’s writing rubric to score sample writings from http://fsassessments.org/students-and-families/.  Middle grades and high school students will be given either an Informational or Argumentative Prompt on the FSA Writing Assessment on February 28th. Mosaic Digital Academy Student Earns Congressional Award

Mosaic Digital Academy’s Christine Bourgoin (Grade 10) earned the bronze award at the 2016 Congressional Award ceremony held on April 3, 2016 at Palm Beach State College. Christine completed 100 volunteer hours: 50 Personal Development, 50 Personal Fitness, and a 2-day, 1 night expedition. Mosaic Digital Academy 1st Grader Takes 3rd Place in 10th Annual Art Contest Sponsored by K12 Inc.

Our own Jayden is a 6-year-old 1st grader at Mosaic Digital Academy who took 3rd place in K12, inc’s 10th Annual Art Contest. Jayden’s art project, “Journey to the Moon,” was created with paper, cardboard, glue, glitter, paint, stickers, number stencils, cut outs and tissue paper. Jayden enjoyed splattering paint all over the cardboard to create the stars…it was messy, fun and effective. Jayden has taken a recent interest in the moon and stars, leading us to explore the decade of the 1960’s when the first trip to the moon was made. Mosaic Digital Academy presents their first Teacher of the Year Award to Mrs. Kahr. We are thrilled to have Carrie Kahr represent our staff as a trailblazer in our virtual instruction program here in St. Lucie County. Mrs. Kahr teaches secondary science offering hands-on lab exploration experiences for students in grades 4-12. Virtual students often express feelings of isolation as they school from home, but not Mosaic Digital Academy students! The St. Lucie school team is committed to keeping students tethered, with live, engaging lessons and live experiences around the beautiful community, promoting a well-rounded student life. Each month there are planned events to engage students with their peers, such as social meet-ups in Tradition where students play ball, Frisbee, and organized games with their teachers.
