The Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion achieved a score of 98.25% on its JPA inspection, allowing them to maintain Honor Unit with Distinction Award, represented with a yellow star worn above the name plate on the right-hand side. The day began with a Continuous Improvement and Service Learning briefing. Directly after each briefing, the Platoon and Color Guard drill evaluation was conducted followed by Cadet and Instructor Portfolios. Military Ball

On Saturday February 2nd, 2019, Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion attended its 25th Annual Military Ball at the Santa Lucia River Club. Male Cadets wore their Dress Cadet Formal uniform, and female cadets came in formal gowns. Our Jaguar Battalion Color Guard posted the colors to begin the formal portion of the ceremony. On Friday, January 18, 2019, Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion’s Army JROTC Drill Team attended the Santaluces Community High School Army JROTC drill meet in Lantana, FL. Cadets competed in male and female squads and color guard. On Saturday December 15, 2018, Port St. Lucie High School’s Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion Marksmanship Team attended their first rifle competition of the season at Atlantic Community High School. We competed against eight other schools with 63 total participants. Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion Raiders Undertake Survival Campout at Camp Tanah Keeta!

On December 7, 2018, Port St. Lucie High School’s Army JROTC Battalion’s Raider Team participated in an overnight Wilderness Survival Campout at Camp Tanah Keeta. Cadets who were invited participated in several activities including canoeing, rope bridge, roasting marshmallows by a bonfire, making tin foil meals, and playing team bonding games. Cadets enjoyed hot chocolate and sandwiches for breakfast before cleaning up camp to head home.

On Saturday December 8, 2018, the Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion’s Color Guard lead the procession with the National Colors and the Puerto Rican Flag in the 2nd Annual Puerto Rican Day Parade of St. Lucie County. Our Army JROTC Jaguar Cadets Prepare Thanksgiving Meals with the Big Heart Brigade!

On Monday and Tuesday, November 19 and 20, 2018, many cadets led by Cadet Captain Brianna Harris and Cadet Sergeant James Mikovsky, along with Cadet Sergeant First Class Lawrence Moleon Mathews, and Cadet Private Heaven Savinon, Cadet 1st Lieutenant Lila Meade, Cadet Corporal Ashley Armendarez, Cadet Master Sergeant Max Marrero, Cadet Private Damien Borkowski, volunteered to help the St. Lucie County Fire District in the Annual Big Heart Brigade. Jaguar Battalion’s Raider Teams Compete at Regionals

On Saturday, November 10, 2018, our male and female Raider Teams competed at South Fork High School Area 3 Regional Raider Meet. Each team competed in all five events including rope bridge, obstacle course, cross country rescue, tire flip, and team run for the male and female teams. Harbor Place Color Guard

On Friday November 9, 2018, Port St. Lucie High School’s Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion’s color guard presented our nation’s colors for a Veterans Day ceremony at the independent and assisted living retirement community Harbor Place in Port St. Lucie. Commanding the color guard was Cadet Sergeant Lawrence Moleon- Mathews, accompanied by Cadet Commander Sergeant Major Victoria Diaz, Cadet Sergeant Justin Bennett as state guard, and Cadet Private First- Class Emma Lewiston as National Guard. Members of the community were thankful to have a color guard present for the duration of the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem.  

Port St. Lucie Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion in Veterans Day Memorial Ceremony

On Sunday November 11, 2018, Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion participated in the Veterans Day Memorial Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park. All cadets who attended demonstrated reverence and gratitude towards veterans and those we lost. Morningside Elementary School’s Veterans Day Ceremony Color Guard

On Wednesday November 7, 2018, Port St. Lucie High School’s Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion’s color guard presented the national colors as students said the Pledge of Allegiance and sang the National Anthem. Opening the Morningside Elementary Veterans Day Ceremony and commanding the color guard was Cadet Sergeant Lawrence Moleon Mathews accompanied by Cadet Command Sergeant Major as state flag bearer, Cadet Sergeant Justin Bennett as national guard, and Cadet Sergeant Michael Schmitt as state guard. Veterans were welcomed into the cafeteria where they sat down and enjoyed various students sing songs and thank them for their service.

PSLHS Raider Meet

Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion hosted a Raider competition at Port St. Lucie High School. Volunteer cadets for each company assisted in running the competition’s five events.  The cadets performed tasks such as running scores back to H22 (the JROTC classroom), working the concession stand, and making sure tents posted around the school had water for anyone who needed it. There were 11 schools from  four different counties with over 25 separate teams competing in three separate categories (Male, Female, and Mixed). JROTC Jaguar Battalion Raider Team Competes

On Friday October 19, 2018, Port St. Lucie High School’s Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion’s Raider Team attended the South Fork Raider meet. We competed against eight other schools through multiple events. Our male and female teams participated in five events including: three-mile run, rope bridge, cross country rescue, etc. Our first male team won 1st overall and ranked first place in the three-mile run and rope bridge. Our second male team won third overall. Lastly, our female team ranked second overall and placed first in the three-mile run and cross-country rescue.  

PSLHS’s Army JROTC Cadets Hold Car Wash Fundraiser!

On Saturday, October 20, 2018, Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion cadets participated in a car wash held at O’Rielly’s Auto Parts. Cadets put together and took part in this fundraiser to support our award-winning Raider Team. Cadets spent four hours cleaning vehicles and building esprit de corps. Donations were given because of hard work and dedication to our Jaguar Battalion. Cadet Sergeant Shane Canady was the main coordinator in charge of this annual proceeding. 

30th Anniversary at PSLHS

On Friday October 12, 2018, the Port St. Lucie High School Jaguars had their homecoming game against the Pompano Beach High School Golden Tornados. It was the 30th Anniversary of our school, and alumni came back to support and watch the game. Our homecoming game is the most popular football game of the season, so we had more cadets work this event.  Cadet Captain Hunter Payne oversaw visitor parking. On October 11, 2018, the Port St. Lucie Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion participated in the 30th annual homecoming parade from Village Green Elementary School, down Lennard Road, and back to Port St. Lucie High School. Congressman Brian Mast and leading cadets took turns calling cadences as they showed their pride carrying each state’s flag. On Saturday September 29, 2018, Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion’s Raider Team attended their first Raider Meet of the season at Atlantic Coast High School. Our mixed team of six males and four females came in second place under the host school Atlantic Community High School. The Raider Event consisted of: a rope bridge construction, 500 push-ups, 500 sit-ups, 100 pull-ups, a mile run while carrying a stretcher with a stimulated patient, a half mile kettlebell carry, and a tractor trailer tire flip weighing in at over 400 lbs.
