Last week, our senior students had the privilege of hosting a visit from the University of Central Florida (UCF) in our auditorium. This informative session provided students with crucial insights into UCF’s admission requirements, vibrant campus life, and diverse degree programs. Such university visits play a pivotal role in shaping students’ future academic and professional paths. By exposing students to various higher education institutions, we empower them to make informed decisions about their college journeys. These visits also foster a sense of excitement and anticipation for the next chapter in their lives.
Mrs. Charles and her wonderfully selfless team do it again! On Thursday, October 24, the Fort Pierce Central Medical Academy partnered with OneBlood to host a blood drive in the school auditorium. We successfully collected 143 units of blood, with each donation capable of saving three lives. Thanks to our amazing volunteers and donors, we were able to save 429 lives! We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the heroes who boarded the Big Red Buses to donate! Your generous act of kindness will make a huge impact!
The Treasure Coast High School Dance Repertory Company attended the Day of Dance at the University of South Florida in Tampa. The dancers participated in collegiate-level dance classes taught by USF dance professors and danced alongside current dance majors and other Florida high school students. TCHS ROTC first-year cadets AS1 (aerospace science cadet) were awarded a new rank of C/Amn (cadet airman) for passing their initial rank test. Additionally, one cadet of the quarter for each AS level was also recognized. Titan Born, Titan Bred!

Lawnwood Elementary students enjoyed the Eco Guardians Performance. With the help of Nikki Neutron, a superhero for the energy-saving Eco Guardians, Grades K-5 students learned about energy efficiency. In summary, students learned about the importance of energy conservation and ways they can help save energy. GO LEOPARDS!
Our junior class took an important step towards becoming responsible citizens by completing state-mandated CPR training. By learning lifesaving skills, our students are prepared to make a positive impact on their communities. When playing with your food is finally acceptable because you’re modeling scientific information! Ms. Jordan’s 8th-grade classroom (with the assistance of Mr. Tygesson) participated in a lunar phase lab (demonstrating the 8 phases of the moon using Oreos).
Palm Pointe Kindergarteners spent a few weeks learning about fire safety. As a part of their lesson, they created “thank you” cards for local firefighters. The cards were sent to a local station who shared them with the crew. The students were SO EXCITED when they received a picture BACK from the firefighters! It was so rewarding to see that their hard work makes a difference to others!
The Earth’s rocks are getting a makeover, courtesy of Mother Nature’s extreme makeover team! Mrs. Enoch’s and Pank’s Writing and Science Lab students simulated the rock cycle with Starburst, turning sediment into sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rock – it’s like rock magic! Bayshore’s junior geologists are rocking this science thing!
Manatee K-8’s annual Fall Festival celebrates the hard work and adherence to school-wide expectations by students throughout October. Students in grades K-5 cheered on their teachers as they competed in various fun events. Laughter and cheers filled the air as teachers took part in activities like the donut-eating contest and Red Light, Green Light. The festival not only highlighted the students’ achievements but also fostered a sense of community and school spirit. It was a joyful reminder of the bond between students and teachers, leaving everyone eagerly anticipating next year’s festivities!

October 16th marked the annual Wear Orange for commUNITY day! Fort Pierce Central honored the day by joining together wearing orange to share kindness, promote acceptance, encourage inclusion, and prevent bullying. The Manatee K-8 PTO would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our school staff, families, and friends for making our first fundraiser of the year at Dave & Buster’s a tremendous success. VGESS hosted a fabulous Garden Community Event over the weekend, where Village Green families, faculty and staff, and community members came together to help rebuild our beautiful garden. Volunteers helped with cutting branches, planting new trees, and creating paths for students to explore the garden. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who came out to support our efforts to revitalize the garden. We also donated over 40 banana trees and plants.
