Our teachers thanked our parents in the morning for getting their children to school on time with snacks and water bottles! It was great to see so many smiling faces at 7:15 am!! Attendance matters.

CTE Middle School students from Dan McCarty Middle School and Northport K-8 were participants in a guest speaker presentation for IRSC’s Health Science and Nursing programs. Kindergartners at Village Green Elementary School learned all about pumpkins through literature, science, math, and even their taste buds! They participated in a pumpkin investigation, read stories about pumpkins, and dissected pumpkins. At the end of the day they were able to enjoy some tasty pumpkin treats!
Mrs. Jones’ class earned their SECOND popcorn party by receiving 10 class compliments when they were showing their S.P.O.T.S.! Whole classes can earn 10 jazzy class cash when receiving a compliment from staff. Congratulations jaguars
This past Saturday, November 4, 2023, Treasure Coast High School hosted the First Tech Challenge Meet 1, abbreviated FTC Meet 1. It was the first official meet of the new league, called the F.U.N. League for First United Network League. The St. Lucie FTC Teams, FTC Team from Fort Pierce Westwood, FTC Team 23514 Westwood Panthers, and Treasure Coast High School’s FTC Team 5158 T.I.T.A.N.S., were joined by teams spanning the adjacent counties of Martin, Okeechobee, and Palm Beach. Mosaic Digital Academy students in kindergarten, first, and second grade are learning their sight words in fun and innovative ways! Students in Mrs. Lankow’s K-2nd grade are finding new and innovative ways to learn! Students create their sight words using homemade playdough, paint, alphabet letter blocks, clay, and Lego blocks! Students can use any type of material to build their sight words! Students love to create, innovate, learn, and grow!
The Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion hosted the Area 3 Raider Meet on November 4th. The Jaguar Raider Cadets were amongst 12 schools from across the state of Florida competing. The raider competition consisted of 5 events: a 2.5 -mile team run, 1-mile litter carry, Kettle Bell, tire flip, and constructing and crossing a rope bridge. The Jaguar Battalion Mixed team finished 3rd overall, Female team finished 2nd, Male team yet again finished 1st place overall and will be representing PSLHS at states at the university of south Florida on December 2nd! St. Lucie West K8 students participated in their annual Color Run to help raise funds for teacher, staff, and student incentives. We thank all of the teachers, staff, students, parents, and families that participated and helped to raise funds!
Floresta celebrated October’s early release with our theme of Ohana by welcoming families to our first round of conferences. Teachers discussed student performance and taught families the impact of attendance. More than 200 families leveraged this opportunity to engage.
On October 20th, 7 of our choir students traveled to the University of Miami to perform in the Frost School of Music Honor Choir! They sang with 300 other high school students from around the state. These students had the privilege of working with world-renowned conductor Jake Runestad. Titan Born, Titan Bred!
Sixth-grade students were honored to have one of their own teachers, a veteran herself, talk with students about being a veteran and what it means. Thank you, Ms. Velazquez for your service! In addition, Ms. Seng and Mr. Watkins had their students write Thank-you notes after learning what it means to be a veteran. Dr. Monroe and Ms. Sexton were honored to deliver the notes to local veterans and extend our gratitude for their service. It was truly an honor to celebrate our veterans!

Village Green Elementary’s third graders held their annual Veterans Day Musical on Thursday, 11/9. Music teacher, Dr. Cynthia Reynolds, did a fantastic job preparing the kids for this presentation that honored Veterans, their families, and their friends. It was enjoyed by all!
Students in Mrs. Brookes fifth grade science class at Fairlawn Elementary school participate in a gallery walk to gather information about planets as a culminating event to small group research completed in class. Students gained valuable information about each of the planets in an engaging manner.

Students at Lawnwood Elementary conducted silly science experiments with candy corn! Classes used various liquids to predict and watch what happened. Students recorded their results and enjoyed their tasty treat afterward.
Mrs. Quiles’ class learned about classifying animals into major groups (mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, arthropods, vertebrates, and invertebrates) according to their physical characteristics and behaviors.
