Morningside 5th-Graders’ Memorable Performance Event

In collaboration with drama students from Port Saint Lucie High School, 5th-grade students at Morningside Elementary experienced the performance of a lifetime. Over six weeks, high school students visited during PE and music resource classes to work with our 5th graders. Together, they learned and practiced routines to various songs, fostering teamwork and creativity. Village Green’s Annual Science Bowl

The 5th graders at Village Green Environmental Studies School participated in their Annual Science Bowl, which was held on Friday, May 2nd. It consisted of four homeroom teams- Team Corley, Team Ferguson, Team Thomas, and Team Venzen. This year was filled with fierce competition in which these World Changers were prepared to battle to an end. Students showcased their knowledge in science terminologies and preparedness for the End of Year science test. At the end of this Science Brawl, four awesome teams were down to one victorious winner. MSE AMP Students Explore Probability with Candy

Mrs. Bolton’s 5th-grade AMP classes compared theoretical and experimental probability using candy. The students first learned how to calculate the theoretical probability of an event and how it can be used to make predictions about the likelihood of the event occurring. Next, they learned how to determine the probability based on actual trials. This activity focused on the relationship between theoretical and experimental probabilities. SLW Centennial Students Assemble Grace Packs

SLW Centennial High School students have been making a significant impact in their community by assembling food packs for their hungry peers through Grace Packs Inc. This initiative has seen remarkable growth over the seasons, with thousands of Grace Packs being put together for children across the district. Palm Pointe Third Graders Bring Idioms to Life

Palm Pointe third graders came in representing various idioms! An idiom is a phrase or expression whose meaning is not from the literal form of its words.  Students and staff were buzzing with excitement over the many creative ways they represented their idioms!  This was a part of their intentional review of the Figurative Language Skills they have learned in class.  Everyone had a blast throughout the school day figuring out what each student’s real-life representation meant as an idiom.  Our Rockets are working hard towards showing what they know and how much they have accomplished this school year.

MSE Fifth Graders Launch Rockets in Science Unit

Fifth-grade students in Mrs. Williams’ homeroom at Morningside Elementary had an exciting opportunity to learn about force and motion through a hands-on science unit. The students built and launched their very own rockets, experiencing how different forces affect movement. School Bus Driver Appreciation Day is observed annually on the fourth Tuesday of April.  This year it was Tuesday, April 22nd! Southport Middle School bus drivers were welcomed with wholesome breakfast treats and a beverage when dropping the students off in the morning.
