TCHS AFJROTC Pinning Ceremony

Cadets in our Air Force JROTC program were honored during the AS1 pinning ceremony. This promotion ceremony is for first-year cadets in the program. Cadets received new ranks as Airmen based on exam results. Congratulations to our Titan Cadets! Titan Born, Titan Bred!

Frances K. Sweet Third Graders Attend the UF/IFAS First Annual Insect Festival

Frances K. Sweet third graders were invited to attend the first annual St. Lucie County Insect Festival hosted by the UF/IFAS Ag-extension. Students were able to learn how bees communicate with each other, careers in entomology, have a chance to pet and feel what a millipede is like, race Madagascar cockroaches, and even try insect snacks!

TCHS FBLA Snack Shack

The Titans FBLA program completed two weeks of snack shack for students. Members and officers were able to volunteer for the event, earning volunteer hours. FBLA was able to earn funds to help support various business trips throughout the year while bringing fellow classmates tasty snacks after long fun fun-filled spirit days. Titan Born, Titan Bred!

TCHS Welcomes Brian Mast

Brian Mast attended Treasure Coast High School to speak with our Air Force JROTC cadets. Brain Mast shared his story, spoke about the military, gave advice, and answered questions for our cadets. This was an awesome opportunity for our students. Thank you, Brian Mast! Titan Born, Titan Bred!

Lawnwood Leopards Are on the Move

Coach Paul’s fifth-grade PE students enjoyed a game of Monster Ball. The students used small balls to move the big ball to the opposing team’s side. Students enjoyed the game as they used overhand and underhand throws to score points. GO LEOPARDS!

A Spooktacular LPA Orchestra Performance

The Lincoln Park Academy High School Orchestra and Middle School Advanced Orchestras presented a Fall Spooktacular Concert on Thursday, October 19 in the LPA Auditorium.  As is traditional for this concert, they perform spooky fall favorites that included Rosin Eating Zombies from Outer Space, Zombie Tango, Monster Mambo, Spiders on the Loose, Zombie Dance, and Rockin’ Halloween that combined themes from Monster Mash, Ghostbusters, and Scooby-Doo.  Solos and Ensembles also performed, including a solo from the Florida Orchestra Association All-State Orchestra Concertmaster Giselle Arana Cisneros.  These orchestras will perform again on December 14, at 6:30 p.m. for the Frosty Eve … Read More

SLPS Goes to FGCU

St. Lucie Public Schools took 34 wonderful seniors across the state to visit Florida Gulf Coast University in Ft. Myers. The students had the opportunity to receive a guided bus and walking tour that included their main campus (academic classrooms, academic resources, and administrative offices), residential halls, dining halls, basketball arena, and more. It was a beautiful day, a beautiful campus, and an amazing group of students. Wings Up!

Marigolds for New Teachers

At Floresta Elementary, mentees have been planted close to their Marigold!  They found their positive, encouraging, nurturing, and supportive mentor that will continue to help them grow not only this year but, in the years to follow.

Sunshine Kitchen Cook-off

St. Lucie Public School Culinary Programs competed at the Sunshine Kitchen in Fort Pierce.  Five outstanding high school culinary students along with an Indian River State Culinary Institute student formed teams and competed at the Sunshine Kitchen Cook-off. Lincoln Park Academy Violinist Grace Joseph will Perform in Charlotte, North Carolina

Lincoln Park Academy Orchestra is proud to announce our violinist, Grace Joseph—grade 9, has been nominated to perform for the 2023 Boys and Girls Clubs of America Southeast Leadership Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina on November 30.  She will be performing some selected solo pieces for one of the general sessions. Congratulations Ms. Joseph on a prestigious honor! Ms. Laura Hopkins is the Orchestra Director at Lincoln Park Academy.

SLW Centennial NAVY JROTC Provides Honor Guard for United Florida Hockey Club Opening Ceremonies

The SLW Centennial High School’s Navy JROTC Navy Eagles “Black Talon” Company had the honor of performing the Opening Ceremonies for the United Florida Hockey Club Tournament on Thursday evening, October 26th, 2023 at Halpatiokee Regional Park in Stuart, Florida. Village Green’s Media Specialist

Village Green’s Librarian, Janet Sievers, joined with others from across our district to attend the national school library conference in Tampa. It was exciting to meet people from around the country and learn how the library systems are run in all kinds of school districts.  One of the first sessions was a discussion with librarians from Tampa as well as North Dakota.  They were also able to meet up with New York Times best-selling author James Ponti who was also in attendance.

Way to Glow, Sharks!

St. Lucie West K8 students in Ms. Paries’ class used a bright strategy to identify clue words within an informational text focused on chronological order text structure. Students collaborated in pairs with their interactive notebooks underneath a black light to highlight the sequence of events!

LPA Boys Swimmers Successful at Districts

The Class 1A District 6 Swimming & Diving Championships were held on October 18th at the IRSC Swimming Pool.  The LPA boys team placed 1st and the girls team finished in 2nd place.  The boys were led by:  Dillon Spooner (1st place in 200 IM, 2nd place in the 500 Free).  The boys relay placed 2nd in the 200 Medley and the 400 Free.
