Sunshine and Stories at White City Elementary

The fourth-grade students at White City had a great time making the most of the beautiful weather as they took their reading activity outside to read their parts in the drama “Peter Meets Wendy.” Once the play was over, the students collaborated to summarize the story.

Bayshore in Partnership with Read for the Record

Ms. Dvir from PNC, in partnership with Read for the Record, visited Ms. Budhram’s and Ms. Dalis’ VPK classroom to read the story “With Lots of Love”. This story was wonderfully written and illustrated to give students a glimpse of what family means, finding ways to stay connected, and sharing love across distances. Ms. Dvir enjoyed sharing stories about her own family and the special things they like to do. Students thanked Ms. Dvir with personal pictures of their own family and things that they love. Spooktacular Teams at Chester A. Moore PBIS Event

CAM’s staff enjoy working together. We know how to bring fun into the building. Each team was tasked with decorating a table and providing treats for students who earned 60 ClassDojo points. The students had a spooktacular time getting treats!

Pathways to Becoming a Physician or Scientist

The Pathways to Becoming a Physician or Scientist event was held at Lincoln Park Academy and live-streamed for students at the other high schools. Students from high school CTE and science classes from all over St. Lucie Public Schools participated as either live or as virtual audience members for the event.  Additionally, middle school students within the Allied Health program at LPA also joined. SLWK8 truly embraced the spirit of Hispanic Heritage Month. We organized an amazing door decorating contest that breathed life into our halls. Ms. Richardson’s Kindergarten class transformed their door into a beautiful work of art representing Prosperity, Power, and Progress! Our dedicated staff came together for a delectable potluck, offering culinary delights from various Hispanic countries. We also elevated our morning announcements by spotlighting prominent Hispanic figures who’ve shaped our world. It was a month where our students and staff united in honoring the rich and vibrant culture of Hispanic Heritage.    

SLW Centennial NAVY JROTC Honors Eagle Seniors!

The SLW Centennial High School’s NAVY JROTC Navy Eagles “Black Talon” Company provided a 50 State Flag Honor Guard to celebrate Senior Night on Friday, October 27th, 2023 at the St. Lucie County Regional Stadium prior to the varsity football game versus Lake Brantley. The Honor Guard honored all seniors starting with the NJROTC Seniors, then the Football Seniors, followed by Cheerleader Seniors. Floresta Welcomes Baby Chicks into the Dolphin Family

Meet Flo! For the past 21 days, our Floresta Dolphins have participated in a school-wide embryology project sponsored by our local 4-H.  Students explored the development of living things with this first-hand experience of incubating eggs and watching them hatch.

Floresta Elementary 5th Graders Explore the Distance of Stars

Students In Mrs. Madorma’s class engaged in exploratory science inquiry activities to explore the distance of stars. Students used flashlights, grid paper, and meter sticks to simulate the brightness of stars at different distances. Students discovered the answers to such questions as: How does the distance of a star affect how bright it looks?  How do you think the distance of a star will change its brightness?  What causes some stars to be brighter than others?

LPA’s National Honor Society Participates in Trunk or Treat

LPA’s National Honor Society, led by Presidents Noah Fox-Goodman and Alexandra Watson, went out to Sportsman’s Park’s Trunk or Treat event to bring smiles (and treats!) to children this spooky season. There were so many kids! Hopefully our skeleton didn’t scare them too much…  

Titan Sounds Earns Straight Superiors

The Treasure Coast High School Titan Sound Band participated in the FBA District 13 MPA (Music Performance Assessment) on Saturday, October 29th. They performed their 2023 field production “Finding Home” for a group of pristine adjudicators and earned straight superiors! The Titan Sound Band then went on to play at the TC football game, where they rallied the team to victory against Vero Beach High School. We are immensely proud of their hard work throughout this award-winning marching season. Titan Born, Titan Bred!

Port St. Lucie HS Male Team Clears the Board with 1st in All Events.

The Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion competed at the Fort Peirce Central Raider Meet at Fort Peirce Central High School on October 28th. The Jaguar Raider Cadets were among 11 schools from across the state of Florida competing. The raider competition consisted of 5 events: a 2.3-mile team run, 1-mile litter carry, Humvee push, tire flip, and constructing and crossing a rope bridge. The Jaguar Battalion Mixed team finished 4th overall, the Female team finished 2nd, and the Male team dominated the competition with 1st place overall in all 5 events. SLW Centennial NAVY JROTC Performs Color Guard for Chili Cook-Off

The SLW Centennial High School’s NAVY JROTC “Black Talon” Navy Eagles Company performed the Opening Ceremony Color Guard for the 41st Annual Chili Cook-Off sponsored by the Boys and Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County. The event took place on Saturday, October 21st, 2023, at the Clover Park “Mets” Stadium in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The Color Guard was performed by Cadet Ensign Faith Miller (Left Rifleman), Cadet Senior Chief Petty Officer Sean Stewart (Ensign Flagman and Color Guard Commander), Cadet Lieutenant Commander Alesha Alexandre (Unit Flagman), and Cadet Senior Chief Petty Officer Mayreeana Neston (Right Rifleman).

Oak Hammock K8 Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Night

Hispanic Heritage Night at Oak Hammock K8 was a huge success. Students and families enjoyed viewing a Hispanic exhibition, eating Hispanic food from the food trucks, dancing, and creating crafts that represent the Hispanic culture. Students of Oak Hammock K8 Leveled Up learning the Hispanic Heritage as they leveled up success.

Lawnwood Leopards Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

The October Parent Night was a hit!  All LWN families were invited to our Hispanic Heritage Celebration.  Families toured the class projects, dined at the taco bar, and enjoyed a talent show. In addition, fifth grade students participated in a wax museum performance to honor the lives of Hispanic Americans like Roberto Clemente, Sonia Sotomayor, and Cesar Chavez.  Go Leopards!
