The Giving Concert
St. Lucie Public Schools Media Services department was on-hand for the annual Giving Concert, a live musical celebration supporting the Grace Packs initiative on October 26th, 2023, at Lincoln Park Academy Auditorium. Nine schools each performed two musical selections, followed by a rousing choral performance by all of the participants.
The mission of Grace Packs Inc. is to provide weekly weekend food for students who lack an ample food supply, relieving the burden many of these children endure by being hungry. Their goal is to furnish breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack items at the end of each school week to students who may be suffering from food insecurity.
Sunshine Kitchen Cook-off
The annual Sunshine Kitchen Cook-Off event at Sunshine Kitchen in Fort Pierce was an exciting event that showcased the talents of SLPS Culinary students. Five teams of IRSC and St. Lucie Public Schools Culinary Program students competed for a $1,500 scholarship to Indian River State College. Our superintendent, Board Members, community leaders, and guests had the opportunity to enjoy the fast-paced, timed cooking contest. Future culinary hopefuls from our middle schools, Northport K8 and St. Lucie West K8 provided home-made refreshments for guests and judges. The winning team was Aristhene Thelisnort, Fort Pierce Central High and Justin Stolaj, Indian River State Culinary Institute each winning a $1,500 scholarship.
