Forest Grove Middle School hosted their 8th-Grade Pinning Ceremony, celebrating the upcoming end of their middle school journey and welcoming the bright futures our 8th-graders will experience as high school students. We would also like to give a special thank you to our guest speaker, Westwood Academy’s Assistant Principal Ms. Smith. Ms. Smith shared an inspirational message to our 8th-grade students as they prepare for their transition to becoming high school students. Although we will miss them tremendously, we know that our Forest Grove faculty and staff have prepared them for success! Once a Bulldog always a Bulldog!

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee was proudly performed by the Fort Pierce Central Theatre Department and directed by Mrs. Tiffany Gardner. This award-winning musical comedy was a delightful mix of humor, heart, and unexpected twists. The show follows six quirky middle-schoolers as they compete in the cutthroat but hilarious Putnam County Spelling Bee, guided by equally eccentric adults. Fort Pierce Central Chorus joined the Lincoln Park Academy Chorus on Sunday, February 13th at 3:00 in the afternoon in a collaborative performance at the First United Methodist Church of Fort Pierce. FPC’s vocal music director Mr. Elker Harris (pictured below) joined Mr. George Rahming Jr. of Lincoln Park Academy in a free community concert featuring tremendous vocal talent. Mariposa science night was a stellar success, as guests explored the wonders of the night sky and read books with flashlights. Attendees had the chance to look through telescopes, including the Dobsonian telescope, a design influenced by Isaac Newton’s early work. Dr. Jacqueline Venzen and Dr. Thomas Gay facilitated another learning lab for fifth-grade students at Village Green Environmental Studies School.   Students have been learning about physical properties, mixtures, solutions, substances, magnetism, and other matter-related science topics. Bayshore Elementary’s 5th graders recently conducted a fascinating science experiment to explore how different factors affected the rate at which sugar dissolved in a solution. They examined the impact of temperature, stirring, surface area, and particle size. By changing these variables, students observed how quickly sugar dissolved under various conditions. On a bright and engaging day, the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office Drone Team made a special visit to our school to demonstrate the innovative use of drones in modern policing. The ‘YMEDACA’ LPA National Honor Society has completed yet another successful road-cleaning! Every early dismissal of every month NHS heads on over to Midway Road to participate in these cleanups. This is the 7th cleanup of the year with 3 more to go. NHS has been doing this for many years, which demonstrates their commitment to keeping Fort Pierce beautiful and clean. Students answered questions from content areas ranging from Music, Foreign Language, English, Mathematics, Science, and more.
