St. Lucie Public Schools is proud to celebrate 15 outstanding students who were selected to participate in the prestigious Florida International University (FIU) Center for Translational Science Summer Research Internship program. These students were chosen through a highly competitive selection process, standing out among many applicants for their academic achievement, dedication, and potential in the field of science.
On June 15, the students were officially welcomed to the program during a special lab coat ceremony, marking the beginning of their engaging summer research experience. During this exciting milestone, each student received their lab coat, was introduced to their assigned research lab, and met the scientist who will serve as their mentor throughout the summer.
The energy in the room was electric as students were recognized as “future doctors and scientists,” a title that reflects both their promise and the opportunities ahead. Throughout the program, students will engage in hands-on research across a variety of diverse scientific fields, gaining valuable experience and insight into real-world scientific work.
St. Lucie Public Schools is grateful for its continued partnership with FIU, which provides students with meaningful opportunities to explore careers in science, medicine, and research while building skills that will support their future success.
