FGMS Welcomes Westwood Academy for PBIS Pep Rally Event

Over 500 Forest Grove students attended a PBiS Pep Rally and Assembly to celebrate their positive behavior! Over 700 students on our campus have not received a discipline referral this school year!!! We were excited to welcome the Westwood Academy basketball team, cheerleaders, marching band, and dance team to celebrate our wonderful students! Mrs. Jason’s 8th grade students engaged in a friendly competition with their peers for their IXL performance. All students are provided an opportunity to complete IXL lessons in their Language Arts class. Our 8th grade Social Studies teachers support our ELA classes by providing additional time for students to engage in IXL lessons for ELA. Ms. Jason’s 3rd period class won the IXL challenge. STEM students are having a great time while reviewing different kinds of forces. They worked as a team creating friction on the balloons for the balloons to be able to lift up the tissue paper due to the electrostatic force. Forest Grove MOA Students Explore the Smithsonian Museum

Great things are happening at Forest Grove Middle School! Our 6th grade Marine Oceanographic Academy students identified different habitats such as the habitats in the Indian River Lagoon, the near-shore waters, and the Oculina reef. Students also participated in a scavenger hunt, examining the 6 different tanks modeling the different habitats searching for the marine organisms that occupy each. In addition, the students had an inside tour of how the aquarium cares for their organisms.
