Forest Grove’s National Junior Honor Society continues with Community Outreach! The residents were thrilled to see our students again. Congratulations to our fantastic Forest Grove Chorus! While attending the Musical Performance Assessment (MPA), our Chorus earned a rating of EXCELLENT! Their Bulldog pride was pouring out as they lifted their voices up in song during their performance. Ms. Roselin rewarded her Math PM2 top level 4 and 5 students with Crumbl cookie, while supporting the soccer team fundraiser. All of her remaining students received donuts and other treats! Mrs. Jason’s 8th grade students engaged in a friendly competition with their peers for their IXL performance. All students are provided an opportunity to complete IXL lessons in their Language Arts class. Our 8th grade Social Studies teachers support our ELA classes by providing additional time for students to engage in IXL lessons for ELA. Ms. Jason’s 3rd period class won the IXL challenge. The students in this class achieved the highest proficiency on their ELA lessons for a two-week period. The students won freeze pops for their hard work and effort. STEM students are having a great time while reviewing different kinds of forces. They worked as a team creating friction on the balloons for the balloons to be able to lift up the tissue paper due to the electrostatic force. Static friction acts on objects when they are resting on a surface. For example, if you are hiking in the woods, there is static friction between your shoes and the trail each time you put down your foot. Photo booth fun at the PBiS Valentine’s Day Event. It’s always a pleasure to celebrate the positive behavior our students display!! Our monthly PBiS events are incentives for students that follow our BARK expectations. All students have the opportunity to attend these events. Great things are happening at Forest Grove Middle School! Our 6th grade Marine Oceanographic Academy students identified different habitats such as the habitats in the Indian River Lagoon, the near-shore waters, and the Oculina reef. Students also participated in a scavenger hunt, examining the 6 different tanks modeling the different habitats searching for the marine organisms that occupy each. In addition, the students had an inside tour of how the aquarium cares for their organisms. Forest Grove Middle School had over 400 students participate in our Nacho Average Student celebration. What does this mean for our school and our students? It means that these students were either proficient (Level 3,4,5s) and/or made significant gains from the PM1 to the PM2/Mid-Year assessments. FGMS 1st Annual Purple vs Gold Basketball PBIS Event was one for the records! Fort Pierce Central High School Varsity Basketball and Cheer Teams did an amazing job representing the Cobra Nation. Forest Grove Middle School is very grateful for our community partnerships with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and First Priority! These organizations meet weekly and provide mentorship and leadership opportunities on our campus. The students who voluntarily attend these group sessions (during lunch with an assigned teacher) receive resources to positively interact with their fellow students and effectively navigate the challenges of middle school and beyond. Forest Grove Middle School hosted their 8th-Grade Pinning Ceremony, celebrating the upcoming end of their middle school journey and welcoming the bright futures our 8th-graders will experience as high school students. We would also like to give a special thank you to our guest speaker, Westwood Academy’s Assistant Principal Ms. Smith. Ms. Smith shared an inspirational message to our 8th-grade students as they prepare for their transition to becoming high school students. Although we will miss them tremendously, we know that our Forest Grove faculty and staff have prepared them for success! Once a Bulldog always a Bulldog!  

This year’s Martin Luther King Jr. Theme was “The Change Begins With Me”. Our school theme is “The ‘B’ Begins with ME”! The similarity between the two is that our future is determined by each and every one of us as individuals as well as a team. We encourage our students and staff to take pride in all that they do.
