In support of St. Lucie Public Schools’ (SLPS) continuing effort to recruit and retain experienced teachers, SLPS and the St. Lucie Classroom Teachers’ Association/Classified Unit have agreed to remove contract language that limits the years of experience awarded to returning DROP retirees. Previously, returning DROP retirees had a cap of five years on the experience for which they could receive credit. Grad Rate Spikes

Graduation Rates released by the Florida DOE show a historic and unprecedented measure of success for St. Lucie Public Schools. The District is ranked fifth overall in Florida and is the highest ranking district on the Treasure Coast with an overall graduation rate of 90.1 percent. Professional Educators and Continuing Education

St. Lucie Public Schools obtained a Math/Science Partnership (MSP) grant focused on increasing science content knowledge. This grant provided twenty-five teachers with the opportunity to participate in the U-Futures program. Nine of these teachers continued, and through the grant along with the generosity of the University of Florida, they completed their Master of Arts in Education (MAE) in Science Education free of charge.
