The 2022 holiday giving season was decked with purple and gold. Fort Pierce Central High School cobras, the Sunshine Committee, along with the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Department brought joy and smiles to children in our area. For the second year, the FPC Toy Drive shares the spirit of heart, hope, and Cobra Pride brightening our community. Thank you to all who donated time or in kind during the most wonderful time of the year.

Delaney Bolbach was named November’s Scholar Athlete of the Month from WPBF 25 News and the law firm of Lytal, Reiter, Smith, Ivey & Fronrath. Delaney is a highly motivated Fort Pierce Central High School senior. From volleyball captain, band captain, and JROTC, Delaney has set and surpassed her high standards for success. Delaney shared that her parents motivate her to work hard now to prepare for her future. Hard work gives Delaney satisfaction and confidence while watching her growth process. Fort Pierce Central High School had a respectable showing at this year’s statewide tournament competing against 64 other schools from across Florida. Congratulations to Makaria Sandlin for taking 2nd place in Original Oratory, Novice Division. This was her very first competition! Honorable mention goes to Amani Mohd for her performance in Congressional Debate. Congratulations to Debate Team sponsor Mrs. Embrey.  

R-E-A-D is Spelled by FPC T-E-A-Ms On October 28th, FPC athletes from cheer and football traveled to Allapattah Flats K-8 to read with students. Ariah Hill, Aniah Augustin, Kaylana Edgecombe, Rylan Watkins, Greg Jerger, Colson Elisme, Gerald Thompson, Isaiah Beaubrun, Jamari Tullis, Jamarion Davis, Casey Highlands, Eddie Maddox, and Malankov Daceus.

Fort Pierce Central bowling teams competed at the State Bowling Tournament in Orlando. Team members brought home the first District title in school history. Boys finished 9th as a team. Charlie Passanante finished 12th in singles. Charlie Passanante rolled a perfect game 300 in the regular season against Somerset Academy who finished 2nd in Districts. Girls: Allison Kepfer and Madison Phillips have a 3-11 record. Boys: Charlie Passanante, Daniel Heidebrecht, Christian White, Nathan Mondo, William Auriemma, Jackson Willette, Nathan Gould, Adriel Alvarez have a 13-1 record for the regular season.

Fort Pierce Central High School’s Embry-Riddle program took off to the Treasure Coast International Airport on October 25th. Four sections of classes, in total of 21 students, were hosted by Turbine Works, a company specializing in complex aircraft maintenance and aerodynamic modifications. The experience was enhanced by students getting an invitation from the owners of two adjacent businesses that remodel interiors and provide avionic services. After devouring all the snacks and drinks graciously provided by Turbine Works, students also had a chance to climb into one of the aircraft. The trip was a total success with excellent feedback. The Gold and Purple of Cobra Nation turned Pink! On Thursday, Oct. 27th, in recognition of Breast Cancer month, FPC’s Sunshine Committee hosted a PINK OUT. All faculty, staff, & students were asked to wear pink to honor survivors & bring awareness to those battling this illness. Cobra Nations’ own Mrs. Swertfager, Mrs. Solomon, and Ms. Williams were honored as champions, survivors, and Cobra warriors.  From the vibrant pink flags to a sky-high balloon arch, a pinked-out paparazzi photo area, and Fort Pierce Police Pink Cruiser, the Cobra courtyard went from purple to pink for October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. … Read More

FPC held its annual student involvement fair this fall. New and transfer students were welcomed at each lunch into the spacious Cobra Nation courtyard, greeted by over 20 student organizations, clubs, and unique interest groups. From observing the Cobra Walk, to joining a student group, new Cobras become part of Cobra Nation. Fort Pierce Central has something for everyone. Fort Pierce Central High School students got immersed in the possibilities for a future of their choosing! This fall, IRSC and numerous community partners came out to give students a first-hand view of trades, careers, and college options. FPC Advanced Culinary Students cooked and served dinner and desserts for the annual fundraising event of the Democratic Club of St. Lucie County at River Walk in Fort Pierce on Friday, May 6, 2022. The meal included:  antipasto charcuterie board, fruit salad, tossed salad, roast pork loin with an apple/bacon/onion sauce, roast turkey with herb gravy, roasted vegetable medley, parmesan butter mashed potatoes, pasta station cooked to order with marinara sauce, or alfredo sauce, and assorted desserts made by Culinary 1 Students.

FPC Poison Pens Win AGAIN! Fort Pierce Central’s Poison Pens won first place in the state during Jason Taylor’s Louder Than a Bomb Spoken Word Poetry Slam! This is the second time they have taken home the top prize. We are very proud of our poets: Laura Eugene, Trinity Scott, Emerson Dent, Alli Smith, Jay Valentin, and Taylor Prescott!!! If the water was hot, STEAM would be bellowing from these perfectly pouring teapots! STEAM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math. Physics and Geometry are alive and well in the Art turned STEAM studio! Juniors Hannah Trigg, (Ceramics III) and Vanessa Niederhofer (Ceramics II) preform a Laminar Flow Pour test with clay teapots.  Hannah, on the left, created her traditional Japanese-style teapot and lid on the pottery wheel. Congratulations to the men’s track team for winning 1st place and the women’s track team for winning 2nd place at the Saint Lucie County Championship. Rolen Gauthier, Richelle Williams, and Nikayia Wilder were trailblazers for their teams, with Nikayia breaking the school record in shot put! Cobra athletes did an amazing job and a big thanks to all Cobra family members for their support! According to junior Joh’Rissa McBurnie- practice makes perfect! Never missing a practice led to her shattering her personal best in the 100-meter hurdles.

From a quiet 60-acre farm in St. Lucie County, a future MIT graduate is designing and building the next head-turning invention. Currently a student at Fort Pierce Central High School, Robert Sansone has turned his barn into a well-designed workshop. From run-faster boots that store elastic energy to taking apart spare brushless motors from his dad’s HVAC shop, Robert is a mechanical engineer with a desire and drive to make the next inventions that astonish and captivate the globe. In honor of Black History Month, FPC faculty and staff shared a thoughtfully prepared Soul Food Luncheon provided by the FPC Sunshine Committee and Cobra Culinary Dept. FPC employees were invited to the Cobra Café to partake in the Soul Food Feast during both lunches. The custom menu honored rich food traditions, favorite dishes, and wonderful desserts. Excitement was in the air for the FPCHS Black History Month Celebration. Staff and students were encouraged to dress in Afrocentric attire that highlighted our B.H.M. Celebrations.   The Fort Pierce Central Medical Academy partnered with OneBlood and held a blood drive on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, in the Fort Pierce Central Auditorium. We collected 115 units of whole blood and performed 19 apheresis procedures for plasma and red blood cell donations. Total donations will equal 400 lives impacted by the FPC Cobra family participation in the blood drive! Thank you to OneBlood and all those who donated, organized, and participated to make this event successful. Cobras are making history and saving lives!
