The Growth is Real with FPC’s New Student Club!
Student members of the new Gardening Club at Fort Pierce Central High School have growth at the top of mind! From painting garden rocks to making Mason Bee homes out of reclaimed paper and aluminum cans, to preparing plots in the campus courtyard, supporting our community is supported through small and large ways.
FPC is known for its close community ties and Cobra Pride. Pride, as we say, makes the difference. Gardening Club is making a difference. Senior and President Angelina Walden, founded the club out her love and devotion to preserving nature, resource stewardship, and sustainable living strategies. The appeal of Gardening Club springs from artistic and innovative activities, projects, and service initiatives. “We can make small changes that have a bigger, long-term impact,” shares Walden. Gardening Club is supported by teachers saving and donating items for campus beautification and community projects.

So, what’s emerging next for Gardening Club? Pumpkin painting, clearing and planting in the campus courtyard plot, guest lecture from UF’s Master Gardener Volunteer Program Extension of Fort Pierce, and making reclaimed clay composting bins!
