LPA Cybersecurity Students get a Peak at IRSC Technology Programs

Mr. Mathison’s Cybersecurity classes had a wonderful trip today on our tour of IRSC. The students had fun exploring the robotics lab, and the programming that goes behind the robots. Then we checked out their IT lab and played the “Backdoors & Breaches” card game which simulates scenarios of IT pros vs hackers. Finally, we toured their manufacturing building to see the workshops, nanotech, and business labs. Students enjoyed the hands-on experiences during the field trip, which was paid for with the Cyber/IT Pathways Grant from the Florida Center for Cybersecurity.    

LPA Key Club Swears in Officers

On March 22, 2023, the Lincoln Park Academy Key Club conducted the swearing-in ceremony of officers. Elections were conducted at the February meeting, and the results were then announced. Faith Mobley will hold the position of President, Nachbi Pierre is Vice President, Megan Pinto is Secretary, and Jeno Retutal is Treasurer. Their term of office will continue through May 2024. Ms. Michelle Franklin, the St. Lucie County Property Appraiser, conducted the ceremony with the officers reciting the oath of office. LPA Seniors Sign to Compete on the Collegiate Level

Lincoln Park Academy senior softball athletes Madison Davis and Callan Kloeckner, along with tennis player Jaclyn Dyer, each signed letters of intent to their respective colleges and universities. Davis, an ace pitcher for the LPA softball team will play at Converse University (Spartanburg, South Carolina).  Jaclyn Dyer will join the tennis team at Keiser University and Callan Kloeckner will play at Indian River State College. LPA Theatre Takes on State Festival

LPA Theatre Troupe 6958 attended State Festival over spring break in Tampa, Florida. The troupe participated with 6 events. 5 events received Superior Ratings and 1 received an Excellent Rating. Valerie Truby, Cael Fevrius, and Tyler Daniel all received Top Honors on their pieces. It was an exciting week that included their Large Group Musical performing for thousands of Thespians!  

Lincoln Park Academy Greyhounds Win Big at SLC Fair

Mr. Mathison’s Adobe CAPE Academy put their photography skills to the test, with every student entering a picture into the St. Lucie County Fair’s Student Photography test. Students selected and framed all their own pictures. Each student earned a ribbon for their participation, but some stood out, including 16 first place, 13 second place and 9 third place ribbons. Students earning first and second earned prize money for their entries. Mr. Mathison can’t be more proud of their accomplishments!

Greyhound Wrestlers Triumph at State

A huge congratulations to the three Greyhound wrestlers that competed at state this past weekend. All three brought home state medals!  Tenth grader Trenton Hogan took seventh place, and eighth grader Quisiera Wilson took fifth place.  Greyhound senior Kyle Grey took home first place and earned the title of State Champion.   Congratulations to the Greyhound students and coaches on a job well done!

Lincoln Park Academy is proud to announce that they will be representing St. Lucie County Public Schools again at Water Fest! Water Fest is the largest event on the east coast designed to educate the public on the value of water and the importance of protecting our water resources, water conservation, and the environment. Municipal & county utilities, state and local regulatory agencies, community and non-profit groups, advocacy organizations, and school groups provide interactive lessons and activities, demonstrations, and contests. Giselle Cisneros-Arana Awarded Concertmaster of the All State Concert Orchestra

Lincoln Park Academy Orchestra is proud to announce that violinist Giselle Arana-Cisneros, grade 9, was recently awarded Concertmaster of the Florida Orchestra Association All State Concert Orchestra in January!  The Florida Music Education Conference was held in Tampa on January 11-14 and featured All State performing groups from various different areas of music performance. Giselle auditioned for her placement and was awarded this honor from 18 first violins.  This talented musician is not only in orchestra but in chorus as well and has performed with many area community orchestras including the Treasure Coast Youth Symphony.

Lincoln Park Academy Orchestras’ Winter Wonderland Concert

Lincoln Park Academy Orchestras presented a Winter Wonderland Concert on December 13 in the LPA Auditorium. Featured orchestras were the 6th-grade Prelude Orchestra, the 7th and 8th-grade grade Allegro Orchestra, Exploring Music Orchestra, and the High School Combined Orchestras.  This Winter Wonderland Concert featured holiday favorites such as Let it Snow, The Nutcracker Suite, Hannukah Habanera, and Dreidel.  Soloists featured included this year’s Florida Orchestra Association Concert Orchestra violinist Giselle Arana Cisneros, Daniel Dawkins on piano, and a Carol of the Bells duet performed by middle school violinists Grace Joseph and Astrid Tamariz Salazar.                  Prelude Orchestra, 6th Grade … Read More

LPA Performs at Disney Candlelight Processional

The Lincoln Park Academy Chorus participated in the Disney 2022 Candlelight Processional on Friday, December 9th. The Candlelight Processional, which occurs daily from November 25th through December 30th in the American Gardens Theatre at Epcot, brings you along on the incredible Nativity story. Each year a celebrity narrator takes Disney guests through the journey complete with a mass choir and a 50-piece orchestra. High school choirs must audition to be selected to participate in this very prestigious event. This is the 16th consecutive year that the LPA Chorus has been selected.

Troupe 6958 Rocks District Festival

Lincoln Park Academy Theatre’s Troupe 6958 participated in District 15 Individual Event Festival on Saturday, December 3rd and the students did absolutely phenomenally. Troupe 6958 came away with 15 Superior Rated Pieces, 8 Excellent Rated Pieces, and 2 Critics Choice. Their Large Group Musical Titled: Biggest Blame Fool was awarded Critics Choice for Large Group and also chosen as the Overall Critics Choice Performance Piece for the entire Festival. This means that Troupe 6958 will be representing District 15 Thespians on the Mainstage at State Thespian Festival in March!

Greyhounds Support Breast Cancer

The Lincoln Park Academy Physical Education Department sponsored a Breast Cancer Awareness walk on Friday, October 28, 2022.  Donned in pink, the students and staff walked 523,704 steps to honor survivors and those battling the horrible disease.  The Greyhounds wrote messages of hope and honor for all friends and family fighting this fight.  A special thank you to Mr. Jason Barela from the St. Lucie Health Department for supporting our walk and donating swag bags for students who walked the most steps and wore the most creative pink outfits.    

LPA Fall Spooktacular Orchestra Concert

The Lincoln Park Academy Advanced Middle School and High School Orchestras presented a Fall Spooktacular in the Lincoln Park Academy Performing Arts Auditorium, October 25. The orchestras performed spooky pieces in addition to featuring several soloists. These soloists included Sofia Arias, vocal solo; Giselle Cisneros-Arana (Florida Orchestra Association All State Violin 2021-2022) on violin, Daniel Dawkins on piano, and Janaya Stephens on guitar. Lincoln Park Academy took Shakespeare to a whole other level in presenting Twelfth Night, 80s style. Twelfth Night is a Shakespearean classic that follows Viola on her journey as she disguises herself to fit in a new town. Her twin brother shows up and chaos ensues. Set in 80s New York, the music of this time truly helped moved the story into a new universe. Don’t miss our Spring Musical: The Little Mermaid, March 9-11.

Former Fortune 500 Executive Returns to Fort Pierce to Inspire Students and Community

On Thursday, September 22, 2022, Indian River State College hosted a community conversation in support of Lee E. Rhyant, the former Executive Vice President and General Manager for Lockheed-Martin Marietta. Mr. Rhyant, a native of Fort Pierce and graduate of Lincoln Park Academy, highlighted his new book, Soaring Eleven Guiding Principles on the Path from Segregation to Success, co-authored with Dr. Catherine Lewis.
