Lady Greyhounds Capture District Golf Title

On October 10th at the Fairwinds Golf Course, our Lady Greyhounds captured their second consecutive district title.  The girls went on to compete at the regional level.  Congratulations to the players and Coach Williams.

LPA’s Juniors Are Committed to Graduating

Lincoln Park Academy’s Class of 2018 is committed to graduating! On October 26th, LPA juniors participated in their annual C2G ceremony to reaffirm their commitment to graduation. All 218 students shook principal Henry Sanabria’s hand to show their commitment to working hard, coming to school everyday, and finishing high school strong. Students also received a keychain tassel to remind them that “the tassel is worth the hassle!”              

THE HARBOR COMES LIVE TO LINCOLN PARK ACADEMY

On Friday, October 14th, the host and creator of Jostens’ “The Harbor TV” Mike Smith made a stop at Lincoln Park Academy as part of his nationwide tour, visiting schools that embrace the Jostens’ Renaissance educational model. Mike shared his message that impacts today’s youth about civic duty, digital citizenship, awareness and service with the Greyhounds in grades 6 through 12 in two separate assemblies that included a dance off and the world’s largest “selfie.” Student leaders along with teachers and administration from Port Saint Lucie High School also participated in the assembly. LPA Freshman – “C2G”

LPA Freshman are Committed to Graduate “C2G” Lincoln Park Academy Freshman had their first freshman meeting.  During the meeting, several things were discussed by their class sponsor, Ms. Erickson.  Mr. Sanabria, school principal, spoke to the students and shook the hand of every freshman to ensure their commitment to graduate during 2020.  The freshman received a bracelet as a symbol of their commitment!

LPA Seniors Are Committed to Graduate “C2G”

Lincoln Park Academy Seniors had their first Senior meeting.  During the meeting several things were discussed by their class sponsor, Mr. Gray.  Mr. Sanabria, school principal, spoke to the students and shook the hand of every class senior to ensure that they are committed to graduate.  The seniors received a class shirt and signed the graduation gown as a symbol of their commitment!                          

Lincoln Park Academy’s FHSAA State Track Champion!!!

FHSAA State Champion!! On Friday May 6th, Caleb Pottorff of Lincoln Park Academy won the 3200 meter run at the State Championship event  in Bradenton. On Saturday May 7th, Caleb also ran the 1600 meter run and finished second. Congratulations to Caleb and his coaches for becoming a State Champion.

Friends and Trustees of the Rupert J. Smith Law Library Celebrate Law Day 2016

The 2016 Law Day Art Contest was open to all St. Lucie County students. The theme, Miranda: More than Words,  encouraged students to explore the protections afforded to all by the U.S. Constitution, learn how these rights are protected by the courts, and determine why they are essential to our liberty. This commemorated the 50th anniversary of the case, Miranda vs. Arizona. Students discussed the Supreme Court case and the importance of the Miranda Warning. LPA Student Geffrey Zeheng Named to Team Florida

Geoffrey Zheng  was named to Team Florida for being one of the six highest individual scorers in the Commissioner’s Academic Challenge competition. As a part of being named to Team Florida, Geoffrey also received a scholarship for $1,000.

LPA Students Compete in the Florida Commissioner’s Academic Challenge

Lincoln Park Academy’s Mali Kaminaga, Carlos Arce, and Geoffrey Zheng competed as members of the St. Lucie County Academic Team at the Florida Commissioner’s Academic Challenge in Orlando April 21-24. The county team placed 5th overall in their division. In addition, Geoffrey Zheng  was named to Team Florida for being one of the six highest individual scorers in the competition. As a part of being named to Team Florida, Geoffrey also received a scholarship for $1,000.

LPA Spring Senior Athlete Signings

On Friday, April 15th at Lincoln Park Academy, we had the honor of congratulating four more of our seniors.   Each student athlete has committed to their college and/or university to further their education and continuing their sport of choice. They are as follows:  Taylor Sukmana: Golf – Palm Beach Atlantic University; Brooke Johnson: Swimming – Florida Atlantic University; Anthony Marian: Soccer – Florida Southern University; and Aidas Kavaliauskas:Swimming – Florida Atlantic University.  

LPA Creative Writers Win Honors in IRSC Contest

Congratulations to our Lincoln Park Academy students who placed in the annual Indian River State College Creative Writing Contest! Molly Thomas won 2nd place in the 10th grade category for her short story, “Bermuda Love Triangle.” Justin Heath won 3rd place in the 11th grade category for his short story, “Leviathan.” Lindsey Allgire won 2nd place for in the 11th grade category for her untitled story. LPA Chorus Sweeps Worldstrides Orlando National Choral Festival

In March, the Lincoln Park Academy Choral Department participated in the Worldstrides OnStage Orlando National Choral Festival. Choirs participating in this festival were from Florida, Tennessee, Virginia, Alabama, and Maryland. Although Lincoln Park was one of the smallest choral programs in attendance, they were very competitive and came away from the festival with an unprecedented nine awards including the coveted “Sweepstakes” award which was awarded to the most outstanding choral program. Lincoln Park Academy Art Department Wins First Place at The Saint Lucie County Fair

The Saint Lucie County Fair Association invited local schools to participate in themed displays.  Following the theme, “Preserve the Fun, Recycle When Done,” Lincoln Park Academy received the first place award in the high school division which included a generous $1,000 cash prize.  In a class discussion about why recycling is important for our planet and its inhabitant, the students came up with the idea that nature cannot be manufactured.  It is a gift from the earth and its beauty cannot be fabricated.  Ms. Duran’s 3D high school students (grades 9-12) collaborated in creating a large tree which read, “We … Read More

Fort Pierce Rotary Club Honors Lincoln Park Academy Senior

Cyndiana was acknowledged for her accomplishments and presented with a Certificate of Recognition and a gift card. Cyndiana also had the opportunity to meet Rotary Club members and share her high school experiences and community involvement. Lincoln Park Academy Middle School Students Participate in Great Explorations Trip

A select group of 8th grade students from Lincoln Park Academy participated in the 1st Middle School Great Explorations event in conjunction with Indian River State College.  Students were able to get hands-on experience with Green Room technology and video production, as well as laser, Allied Health, and Robotics fields, while speaking with professors and students about the school-college-work connection.  The all day event was intended to provide a “spark” for these students who will soon be entering high school and beginning their college exploration journey.              

Lincoln Park Academy Mathletes Win Big

Congratulations to the Lincoln Park Academy Math Team on a great finish Saturday, February 13th, at Suncoast Community High School’s February Regional Mu Alpha Theta Math Competition. Eighth graders Callie Zheng, Sreya Banik, and Yanan Lin took home the third place trophy in the Geometry Team division. Callie also finished in 8th place as an individual. In the Calculus division, seniors Geoffrey Zheng, Carlos Arce, Jason Dennis, and junior Bradley Gilrane finished in third place with Geoffrey placing 2nd overall as an individual. LPA Basketball Player Scores 1,000 Points

On January 11th, Dyujae (Biko) Gayman scored his 1,000th basketball point as a Lincoln Park Academy Greyhound.  The LPA family of students, teachers, staff, and coaches are very proud of his accomplishment.  Congratulations Biko!!

LPA Participates in NPR’s Great Thanksgiving Listen

Mrs. Jamie Spooner‘s Honors English classes participated in the Great Thanksgiving Listen between the Thanksgiving and Winter Break.  This project, developed by NPR and StoryCorps,  allowed the students to interview friends, family, and important role models to allow their memory and voice to be saved to the Library of Congress.  It helped the students to continue to grow as communicators during their study of American literature.

Lincoln Park Academy Steps Up for Hope’s Closet through Shoe Drive

The National Honor Society and students of Lincoln Park Academy collected gently used shoes for Hope’s Closet during the month of December to help men, women, and children to better enjoy the holiday season.  The students will be continuing their service drive with Hope’s Closet in the month of January by collecting jackets and blankets.
