Congratulations to the LPA Odyssey of the Mind teams! On February 26, two teams competed in the Regional Tournament at Suncoast High School in Riviera Beach and both teams are headed to the Florida State Tournament on the campus of the University of Central Florida on April 8.
Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from K to 12th grades. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics.
The Problem 5 Team came in first in its category and received the Ra’natra Fusca Award for the most outstanding performance in the regional tournament. Team members are Reese Perretta, Shreya Reddy, Haniya Shareef, Cristin Donaldson, Lance Barrett, Gary Simmons, and Camila Parra.
The Problem 3 Team placed second in its category and is headed into the state tournament with the intention to win the event outright. The team members are of Elizabeth Sterling, Amanda Bouquet, Isabella Gomes, Rafaella Milla, Lourdina Payen and Juanita Maldonado.
We are so proud of our Odyssey of the Mind teams and wish them the best of luck at the State Tournament.
