Lincoln Park Academy Jazz Ensemble Collaborates with Renowned Latin Percussion Artist Sammy Figueroa

The Lincoln Park Academy Jazz Ensemble collaborated with renowned Latin percussion artist and Grammy nominee Sammy Figueroa and his Sally’s Tomato ensemble at the Sunrise Theater Black Box.  The students enjoyed an engaging workshop with Mr. Figueroa on Afro-Cuban stylistic techniques followed by the performance at the Black Box.   Sponsored by Bluebird Educational Foundation, the event was an enormous success!    

“Visions of Peace”

In early October, Lincoln Park Academy middle school art students participated in the Lions International Peace Poster Contest which is sponsored by Lions Clubs around the world. This art contest encourages young people worldwide to express their visions of peace. For more than 25 years, millions of children from nearly 100 countries have participated in the contest. Lincoln Park Academy’s Concert Chorale to Participate in Disney’s 2015 Candlelight Processional

For the 8th consecutive year, the LPA Chorale has been selected to participate in the 2015 Disney Candlelight Processional. The Candlelight Processional held in the Epcot Center at the American Gardens Theater is a breathtaking retelling of the Christmas story in words and music complete with a 50 piece orchestra, choir and celebrity guest narrators. The narrators read the Christmas story and interspersed are favorite carols of the season. The Lincoln Park Academy Chorale will perform on Friday, December 11th at 6:45 pm and 8:15 pm. The celebrity guest narrator for the evening will be Ana Gasteyer.

Six LPA Students Sign Intent During National Signing Week

On Wednesday, November 18th at Lincoln Park Academy, we had the honor of congratulating six of our seniors.  These student athletes have committed to their college, university and/or academy to further their education with a scholarship. They are as follows:  Lindsey Wright – Swimming, Gardner-Webb University;  Derek Schwimer – Baseball, Palm Beach State College;  Ashley Langel – Softball, Shorter University;  Jeffrey Gerilca – Baseball, Air Force Academy Colorado Springs; Meghan Callahan – Softball, Palm Beach State College; and Taylor Boykin – Softball, University of South Carolina Beaufort.
