Manatee Academy recently celebrated a memorable Literacy Week centered around the theme READ, White and Blue, bringing together students, staff, families, and community partners to highlight the joy and importance of reading. Did you know yoga helps your brain and body grow stronger? In PE, our K–2 students have been exploring yoga as part of our Educational Movement unit. Through stretching, breathing exercises, and mindful movement, students are discovering how yoga improves focus, calmness, strength, flexibility, and balance! They are learning how to control their breathing, different yoga poses, how to practice self-awareness, and build confidence while having fun. Bayshore Elementary lit up with excitement during our Perfect Attendance Glow Party! Students who achieved perfect attendance for both Quarter 1 and Quarter 2 were invited to celebrate their outstanding commitment. Each student received a glow stick and a special Perfect Attendance tag to mark their accomplishment. The lights dimmed, the music turned up, and our students enjoyed dancing, laughing, and spending time together. Fairlawn Elementary’s first-graders had an out-of-this-world adventure during their recent field trip to the Indian River State College Planetarium! What made the experience even more special was that students were able to walk there together, enjoying the beautiful day and the excitement of heading to such an amazing local resource right in our own community. Five students woke up at 3am and sacrificed their Valentines Day Saturday to travel and conquer the West Coast Ocean Bowl, dubbed the Spoonbill Bowl.  It has been five years since we last took 1st and 2nd place on the East Coast. Jaella Jones, Mariana Ruppert, William Hussey, Ava Mendoza, and Team Captain Roslyn Tran went UNDEFEATED for 9 rounds to earn a spot in the finals.  In the end, Fort Pierce Westwood placed 2ND in the STATE to bring home a trophy, medals, and cash prizes.
