AquaTree Gardens in the Middle Schools

Teachers and students at Manatee Academy, Chester A Moore, Southern Oaks Middle, Northport K-8, and St. Lucie West K8 received their new AquaTree Gardens (the first of it’s kind to be used in Florida schools) using hydroponic technology to grow different types of Microgreens, Proteins, Herbs, and Lefty Greens. The students had the opportunity before the end of the school year to disperse the seeds into the trays and observe the growth of microgreens over a period of a week. The Class of 2026 Visits UF and UCF

In June, the Office of Teaching and Learning (Secondary Programs) brought approximately 70 rising seniors to visit the University of Florida or the University of Central Florida.  The 70 students represented all of our comprehensive high schools. This academically driven and respectful group of rising seniors had the opportunity to receive a 90-minute walking tour of the campuses. They also received a 30-minute Q&A session with Admissions as well as ate lunch in a student dining hall and topped it off with some browsing in the bookstore. Outstanding Year for Fort Pierce Westwood’s Key Club

Fort Pierce Westwood’s Key Club had an outstanding and productive year!  The Club earned over 1,300 volunteer hours – an economic impact of $43,000 – and increased its membership by more than 10%!  The Club has many ongoing activities, such as cleaning our Adopted Road on Orange Ave, working at the Treasure Coast Food Bank, volunteering for Game On!, assisting with school functions, and supporting activities at the Lakewood Park Church.  This year, we also volunteered for the Heathcote Botanical Gardens Christmas Display, the Festival of Lights at the Fairgrounds, and the Backus Art Gallery.  We also support our sponsoring … Read More

Culinary Students Cook at Cinco de Mayo

St. Lucie Public Schools Culinary students from Northport K-8, Fort Pierce Westwood High, and Port St. Lucie High prepared a Cinco de Mayo feast for Monarch Country Club members. Students researched the recipes and worked with the head chef to create the menu and ingredient lists. Students prepped and cooked in Monarch’s commercial kitchen, then served their dishes to members and their guests in the dining room. Thank you to Chef James Quade, Samantha Delaski-Membership Director, Chef Tiffany Tredor-Northport K-8, Chef Jeanne Gray-Fort Pierce Westwood, and Chef Kevin Sassano-Port St. Lucie High, for their guidance and dedication to this event.

Being a twin means you do most everything together. From similar laughs to clothing and friends, twins walk alongside each other for many of life’s most important moments.
