Palm Pointe Participated in Star Wars Concert

On Saturday, December 5, the Jazz Band under the direction of  Band Director Jason Hatfield from Palm Pointe Educational Research Center @ Tradition participated in All County Music’s Star Wars Day celebration in Tamarac, Florida.  Students dressed in Star Wars shirts and played themed music in a benefit concert for children in need. Northport Brings Out Community at Annual Breakfast With Santa!

Northport Principal Glenn Rustay shook off his Santa suit one more time to bring joy and good wishes to the entire Northport community at the Annual Breakfast With Santa held recently in the school cafeteria. On a Saturday morning, Assistant Principal Lisa Cash and Assistant Principal Lorie Monroe suited up to play Mrs. Claus and an elf to bring joy to all as a pancake breakfast was served by Northport’s PTO. SLWK-8 Jr. Thespians Win at Festival

The SLWK-8 Jr. Thespian Troupe wowed the audience at their 4th annual Thespian Showcase performance on November 19th. In addition, they performed at the District 3 Junior Thespian Festival on December 5th and brought home 11 scores of EXCELLENT and 6 scores of SUPERIOR. FPC Fall Food Drive

The Sophomore Class at Fort Pierce Central sponsored a Fall Food Drive to benefit the Treasure Coast Food Bank on November 20-24. Freshmen class members collected the most with 127lbs of the 387lbs of food collected.

Lincoln Park Academy Jazz Ensemble Collaborates with Renowned Latin Percussion Artist Sammy Figueroa

The Lincoln Park Academy Jazz Ensemble collaborated with renowned Latin percussion artist and Grammy nominee Sammy Figueroa and his Sally’s Tomato ensemble at the Sunrise Theater Black Box.  The students enjoyed an engaging workshop with Mr. Figueroa on Afro-Cuban stylistic techniques followed by the performance at the Black Box.   Sponsored by Bluebird Educational Foundation, the event was an enormous success!

“Visions of Peace”

In early October, Lincoln Park Academy middle school art students participated in the Lions International Peace Poster Contest which is sponsored by Lions Clubs around the world. This art contest encourages young people worldwide to express their visions of peace. For more than 25 years, millions of children from nearly 100 countries have participated in the contest. The theme of the 2015-2016 Peace Poster Contest was “Share Peace.” Thirty-three students, ages 11, 12 or 13, were selected to showcase their work in Art Mundo, a local gallery/workshop located in beautiful downtown Fort Pierce, 111 Orange Avenue. Northport Students Innovate Using Java Script!

Technology Education is alive and thriving at Northport! As part of the National Hour of Code celebrated worldwide each December, Kevin Fess and his technology classes are trying their hand at coding pictures, animations, and character movements. Students as young as first grade are engaging in coding enterprises at Northport this month. The National Hour of Code is an initiative by, which aims to get students of all ages interested in computer science. Pictured is 6th grade student Riley Orr from the Northstar Team. Root and Rocket Garden at Palm Pointe

Recently, first grade students at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition celebrated the inauguration of the “Root and Rocket Garden.” A ribbon cutting ceremony took place with first grade teacher Rebecca Benton organizing the event. Students and staff were excited to see the garden take shape and the plants growing. Great job rockets!

REE’s Annual Camp Out Fun in the Rain

REE hosted their annual family camp out on Friday night before Thanksgiving. Tents were set up all over the property while hamburgers and hot dogs were grilled. The rain changed a few of the planned activities and cut the favorite night hike in half, but it couldn’t stop the families from having fun. There was dancing under the cover and a concert by Madnote – a band that includes one of our 5th grade teachers, Gregory Stetz. This long-standing tradition is organized by our Media Specialist, PJ Price.

Wonderful morning recently in the Northport Media Center as we work through our “Gold Star Family Education Week!” Two courageous Gold Star moms, Linda Schuman and Karen Zook who both lost sons in recent years visited the Media Center to help educate our students about key qualities that help our community and families instill attributes that make awesome citizens. The women gave solid examples of the words: integrity, sacrifice, empathy, service, commitment, honor and teach.
