A Thankful Celebration at MSE

Morningside Elementary celebrated Thanksgiving by giving to others.  Students brought in food and decorated boxes to send home to our wonderful Grace Packs families.  Our Kindergarten also celebrated with their annual POW WOW.  They dressed up in costumes they made and parents brought in an abundance of  “authentic”  Thanksgiving  food for the students to sample.                            

A Test Drive Today Will Help Students Tomorrow

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL – On Saturday April 21, test drive a new Buick and help Port St. Lucie High School (PSLHS) located at 1201 SE Jaguar Lane in Port St. Lucie receive up to $10,000. Garber Buick GMC in Ft. Pierce will have new Buick vehicles at the school for this Test Drive Event from 8:00am-3:00pm. For each 2-3 minute Test Drive, Buick will donate $10.00.  When the event exceeds 100 test drives, Buick will double the donation to $20.00.  The goal is to reach the maximum donation of $10,000 for the day!   Participants will sign-in on the east … Read More

A Sweet Surprise at Bayshore Elementary

Congratulations to Ms. DSilva’s second grade class at Bayshore Elementary for an unforgettable day! The students were thrilled to receive a special visit from Kona Ice, making their day extra sweet with delicious, refreshing treats. But that’s not all! The excitement doubled when a friendly penguin stopped by to read to the class. A Surprise Homecoming Celebrated at Palm Pointe

After being stationed in Italy as a Commander in the Navy for the past nine months, Mr. Kyle Croce visited his kindergarten daughter Aria and first grade daughter Caroline during their lunch at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition.  What a wonderful welcome back surprise; there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!

A Supportive Culture

SLPS Social Worker Kate McCormic was recognized by the Sheriff’s Office for her outstanding work with a local family in the fall. She, in collaboration with the SRD and two others, worked to locate a student who was truant, provide food for the family, and provide support services.

A Successful Peanut Butter Drive

Due to the generosity of SLPS District Office employees, 101 jars of peanut butter were collected for Grace Packs, an organization that provides nourishment to food-insecure children in St. Lucie County. Thank you to all who donated!

A Storm of Excitement at SLE

St. Lucie Elementary School students felt a storm of excitement as they learned about air masses, tornadoes, and hurricanes during a visit from Meteorologist Cris Martinez this week.  Each month, the WBPF personality visits schools in St. Lucie County to share information with students on weather and how it impacts them.  He is always a big hit!

A Spooktacular LPA Orchestra Performance

The Lincoln Park Academy High School Orchestra and Middle School Advanced Orchestras presented a Fall Spooktacular Concert on Thursday, October 19 in the LPA Auditorium.  As is traditional for this concert, they perform spooky fall favorites that included Rosin Eating Zombies from Outer Space, Zombie Tango, Monster Mambo, Spiders on the Loose, Zombie Dance, and Rockin’ Halloween that combined themes from Monster Mash, Ghostbusters, and Scooby-Doo.  Solos and Ensembles also performed, including a solo from the Florida Orchestra Association All-State Orchestra Concertmaster Giselle Arana Cisneros.  These orchestras will perform again on December 14, at 6:30 p.m. for the Frosty Eve … Read More

A Red-Carpet Welcome at Southern Oaks

Students at Southern Oaks Middle School returned to school for the 2024-2025 school year with much fanfare. Students received a red carpet welcome making them the superstars and celebrities of the day. Teachers and staff lined the red carpet to contribute applause, cheers, and plenty of fanfare. Students smiled as they received high-fives, fist bumps, and hugs. Some students stopped for photos and others for interviews. A Recount of “What I Did This Summer” Turns Heroic in One Bayshore Elementary Classroom

ST. LUCIE COUNTY – St. Lucie Public Schools (SLPS) Superintendent E. Wayne Gent posed the question to students in Mrs. Myers’ 3rd grade Bayshore Elementary School classroom, “What did you do this summer?” What he heard from eight-year-old Christine Regina was a heroic recount of this young student’s quick thinking that helped save a young boy from drowning. A Night to Remember

On Saturday, January 29th, 2022, the Port Saint Lucie JROTC Jaguar Battalion hosted their 27th Annual Military Ball. This event took place at Santa Lucia River Club. There were over 135 Cadets that participated, which also included parents and faculty. Once entering the ballroom, cadets participated in a greeting line by the staff members of the battalion. Frances K. Sweet Elementary, in collaboration with the Department of Student Services & ESOL’s Parent Educators, recently hosted an engaging and interactive Math Quest & Data Fest Night, welcoming students and their families for an evening focused on building math skills, confidence, and connections. The event highlighted the importance of making math meaningful, hands-on, and fun—both at school and at home. A Night in Paris at SLWK8 School

Over 200 students and parents attended this year’s A Night in Paris child/family dance at St. Lucie West K-8 School. Students and their families danced the night away to DJ Louie’s tunes while enjoying French-inspired culinary treats. All proceeds went to support our Student Council.
