Bayshore recently hosted a Mental Health Awareness night, bringing together students, families, and staff to promote mental well-being. Counselors Ms. Alexander, Ms. Cesar, Ms. Mora, Ms. Jones the School Based Mental Health Counselor, Ms. Bonner the school psychologist, and Ms. Napoleon the school social worker, along with teachers, each had booths offering valuable mental health resources. The iMind booth, a community resource for mental health, and Ms. Benton, the Life Skills Parent Educator, provided parent resources. Bayshore’s Media Center Gets a Literary Lift

Over summer break, Mrs. Gray, our dedicated Media Specialist at Bayshore Elementary, led a remarkable renovation of the Media Center that left students and staff thrilled upon their return. The space was transformed into a vibrant, welcoming hub for reading, learning, and creativity. Bayshore’s First Grade Students Receive Visit from JROTC Students

Bayshore’s Conferences Empower Student’s Voices

Bayshore recently hosted student-led conferences with strong support from the community and the SLPS district office. Students had the opportunity to discuss their unit assessment data, PM data, and goals for PM 3 data with their parents, teachers, or staff. They also shared things they could work on at home, their aspirations, and their future career interests. Each student presented a folder containing samples of their work and data, which they shared with their families. Bayshore’s Annual Literacy Night

Bayshore Elementary hosted its annual Literacy Night during Celebrate Literacy Week.  Students and families had a great time learning about literacy while participating in literacy games and activities.  Second grade student, Tyler Jennings, and his mom, Karen Jennings, worked together to set a literacy goal for Tyler while learning about additional resources at the event.

Bayshore’s 5th Graders Learn About Food Chains

In Mrs. Enoch’s and Pank’s Writing and Science Lab, students enthusiastically participated in the interactive game “Eat or Be Eaten.” This engaging educational tool allowed them to actively construct food chains, providing a hands-on learning experience. Through the game, students explored the intricate relationships within ecosystems, gaining a deeper understanding of the roles of various organisms. They learned about producers, which are typically plants that create their own food through photosynthesis. They also identified primary consumers, such as herbivores that eat the producers, and secondary consumers, which are carnivores or omnivores that prey on primary consumers. Bayshore’s 5th Annual Community Resource Night

Bayshore hosted its 5th annual Community Resource Night! Families that attended had the opportunity to learn about community and school resources. Valuable information was shared from Children’s Services Council, Kids at Hope, St. Lucie County Health Department, Hibiscus Children’s Center and many more local organizations. The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Department also provided fingerprinting services and hosted the Bike Rodeo to teach students about safety rules when riding a bike. Bayshore’s 2nd Graders Visited Texas Roadhouse!

Thank you, Texas Roadhouse, for an amazing 2nd grade field trip! Students were able to learn about various jobs and tasks performed in a restaurant, tour their kitchen facility, create their own tasty rolls, learn how to line dance, AND enjoy some delicious food.

Bayshore’s 1st Annual Special Olympics

Bayshore School proudly hosted its first annual Special Olympics, a day dedicated to celebrating the incredible abilities and spirit of our students. The event was filled with various activities, from relay races to team sports, showcasing the determination and enthusiasm of each participant. The highlight of the day was the grand finale – a lively water balloon fight that brought smiles and laughter to everyone involved. Bayshore Wins Kids at Hope Time Traveler Award

Pamela Garrity, Bayshore Elementary STEM teacher, recently entered the Kids at Hope Day Contest.  She was recognized with the Time Traveler Award for teaching students how to mentally travel to the future.  Her lessons taught students to realize how they can utilize their personal talents and the importance of the skills they are currently learning to reach their destinations in the future.   Pictured, from left to right: Pamela Garrity and fifth grade students Taryn Erdosi, Jessica Holsten, and Angelica Moreno.

Bayshore Welcomes Dads

On September 30, Bayshore Elementary welcomed fathers and male role models to observe the Dads Take Your Child to School Day. The media center received 120 fathers and male role models representing 146 students, or 20% of the student body, who were greeted by the school administrators and teachers. During the event, fathers and male role models participated in the signing of the pledge as a demonstration of their commitment to their children’s education. Fathers were also invited and encouraged to participate in future Dads Take Your Child to School Day events.

Bayshore Students Receive Dictionaries

Third grade students at Bayshore Elementary were visited on Tuesday, Januray 19, by members of the Lions Club. Mr. James Coy and Mrs. Sandra Coy presented our third graders dictionaries as part of a campaign by the local Lions and Rotary Clubs. This year, both clubs have joined to provide all third grades in Saint Lucie County with dictionaries. Our students are very grateful for their generous gesture.

Bayshore Students Participate in Fourth Grade Foresters Program

On Friday, January 15, fourth grade students attended a presentation by the Port Saint Lucie Botanical Gardens and the Keep Port Saint Lucie Beautiful about Arbor Day and the Fourth Grade Foresters Program. Students learned about growing a Sabal Palm and received their own Sabal Palm to take and plant at home. The trees were generously donated by Keep Port Saint Lucie Beautiful and Waste Pro.
