Bayshore Students Explore STEM Activities

Mrs. Glidden’s second grade students participated in STEM activities. Students raised questions about the natural world and used nonstandard objects to build and create through free exploration. Bayshore Students Enjoy the iReady Carnival

Students had a blast at the iReady Carnival. They enjoyed a 22-foot slide, an obstacle course, a bounce house, a basketball inflatable, a dunk tank, and a cold drink and ice pop. Students were required to earn 50 percent of their iReady goal that is calibrated to their individual diagnostic gain based on their first and second diagnostic, NOT their current grade level related. iReady sets an individual customized goal giving every student an equal opportunity to meet their 50 percent goal. Bayshore Students Celebrate International Literacy Day

This year marked the 50th anniversary of International Literacy Day on September 8, 2016.   In honor of this special day, Bayshore students participated in a book exchange. First grade students Sophia Schmitt, Jilieah Taylor and Kaelyn Scheumeister (pictured from left to right) were excited to choose new books!

Bayshore students and staff stand united in the Circle of Hope

On September 15, Bayshore students and staff members participated in the Circle of Hope.  The Circle of Hope is a cancer awareness event that honors those who have gone on a journey battling cancer.  On the third Tuesday of September of every year, members of the St. Lucie Public Schools stand united for hope and a cure for cancer.

Bayshore second graders research Native American Tribes

Bayshore Elementary second grade classes are combining English Language Arts and Social Studies standards to research, write about, and compare  the cultures of Native American tribes from various geographic regions of the United States.  Pictured is second grade teacher Mrs. Fallon and her students.

Bayshore Says Thanks!

Bayshore Elementary staff handed out nearly 250 bottles of water to thank their families for supporting the referendum.  The bottles were wrapped with a thank you message that generated smiles and reciprocal thanks.

Bayshore Receives the Bronze Award as a PBIS Model School

At the School Board Meeting on May 27, 2014, PBIS District Coordinator Robert O’Neill presented a Bronze Award for the 2012-2013 Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Model Schools to Bayshore Elementary. A PBIS Model School is one that has met specific criteria and has reported innovative, creative and functional ways of supporting PBIS in their school. Bayshore Receives American Flag from Captain Matthew Shields

Bayshore Elementary School was presented with the American Flag by the family of Captain Matthew Shields.  For many years, Mrs. Debbie Gonzalez’s first grade class has sent letters and cards to Captain Matthew Shields and other members of his unit.  Captain Shields’ grandmother, Lauran Griffith (longtime Bayshore volunteer), presented a flag that was flown over Syria and Iraq in appreciation for the continuous support that the unit received. Bayshore Participates in Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade

On Monday, January 18, Bayshore students, parents, and staff participated in the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Parade. This year’s theme “Dream Forward: Choose Peace, Equality, and Change” inspired the float design that represented our school.

Bayshore Odyssey of the Mind Team Receives OMER Award

The Bayshore Elementary School Odyssey of the Mind team participated in the regional competition on February 28. The team competed against seven other schools to solve the long term problem titled, Silent Movie. Bayshore’s team was honored with the coveted OMER Award, which was awarded because the team demonstrated a global view on their long term problem. Bayshore Odyssey of The Mind Champs

On March 10th, Bayshore Elementary School’s Odyssey of the Mind team competed at Regionals in Palm Beach County. The team showed amazing team work and performed a skit that was “Out of this World.” According to the judges, “The team showed exceptional teamwork and focus when their prop/backdrop did not stand up the way it should have. The Bayshore counseling team distributed SUPERHERO self-care kits to teachers and staff, which included tea, mints, honey, and a small encouraging message. These thoughtful kits aim to support teachers and staffs’ well-being and provide a little boost of positivity. 🌟

Bayshore Jaguars Showing Kindness Matters

Mrs. Percy’s students created an interactive Kindness Wall with her 1st and 5th graders in hopes to spread more kindness! This interactive wall helps students to remember kind words or demonstrating kind actions. Mrs. Percy has taught her students the difference between kind and nice. Students created a Circle Map to brainstorm ways to show kindness and then watched a video to expound on details. Bayshore is Moving Up!

Bayshore Elementary is a “B” school! On December 11, 2023, the State of Florida released school grades for the 2022-2023 school year. Bayshore is one of five schools in St. Lucie County that increased one letter grade. Congratulations to our students, teachers, and staff. We are extremely proud of the determination and dedication of our students and staff! As we head into 2024, we will continue to provide quality instruction while building meaningful relationships with students and families. Bayshore is planting seeds of success and cultivating greatness!
