MSE Honors Our STARS

Morningside’s STARS were celebrated Monday, January 4, 2016, with a breakfast, MSE shirt, and certificate. Our School Related Employee of the Year is Candida Castrillo, executive secretary.  The Distinguished Minority Teacher is Stacey McColley, kindergarten teacher, and our Teacher of the Year is Coach Ryan Prue, PE teacher. Congratulations!!  

Palm Pointe Donates to Harvest Outreach Center

Members of the Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition’s National Junior Honor Society recently donated hundreds of canned goods and other non-perishable items to the Harvest Outreach Center.  A special thank you to all students and staff who donated to help make the holidays merrier for many people. First Responder Appreciation Week

For the second consecutive year, Governor Rick Scott has proclaimed January 4-8, 2016 as Florida First Responder Appreciation Week. First responders play a critical role in keeping our communities safe, and all Floridians benefit greatly from the services they provide. PBIS Dance at MSE

   Students in K-5 with no referrals for the second nine weeks danced and enjoyed each other’s company at the second annual PBIS in-school dance.

Transportation Routing Department Hosts a WINTER WONDERLAND!

The Routing Department would like to wish every employee a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!  We all work together to provide the best services we can to the students in St Lucie County, and we here in Transportation, thank you. F. K. Sweet Breakfast with Santa

REE’s Giving Trees Overflow with Donations

The Giving Trees are a long standing tradition at Rivers Edge Elementary. Every grade has a Christmas tree on the stage in the cafeteria representing a local organization. Students and staff bring in donations for the organization the grade has chosen. They are placed under the tree for the campus to see. Once again this year REE proves it is the school with a heart of gold as the stage was overflowing with gifts, supplies, and donations. Mosaic Digital Academy 1st Grader Takes 3rd Place in 10th Annual Art Contest Sponsored by K12 Inc.

Our own Jayden is a 6-year-old 1st grader at Mosaic Digital Academy who took 3rd place in K12, inc’s 10th Annual Art Contest. Jayden’s art project, “Journey to the Moon,” was created with paper, cardboard, glue, glitter, paint, stickers, number stencils, cut outs and tissue paper. Jayden enjoyed splattering paint all over the cardboard to create the stars…it was messy, fun and effective. Jayden has taken a recent interest in the moon and stars, leading us to explore the decade of the 1960’s when the first trip to the moon was made. REE Hosts Their Annual Choir Christmas Performance

REE’s 4th & 5th Grade Choir showed off their incredible talents during their annual Christmas performance! Solos, duets, dancing and even a hula hoop presentation kicked off the night followed by the choir performing multiple Christmas favorites. Parents brought treats galore for everyone in attendance.  

Exciting Times in the Northport STEaM Lab!

Wonderful job to the Northstar STEaM students, their instructor, Christine Nurse, and ESE Chairpersons Sherri Yacovino and De Green for their great work with our ESE students. The excitement was palpable as students learned new and exciting hands-on information. Northstars STEaM Team students provided a laser and photonics hands-on lab for our wonderful exceptional students. The students designed and created an authentic triangulated laser and photonics security system.

Battle of the Books Championship at Manatee Academy

These 4th and 5th grade Manatee Academy students are thrilled with the prizes they received after competing in our recent Battle of the Books Championship match!  Students read 13-15 of the Sunshine State Young Reader Award nominees for this year.  Their overall favorite? Pie by Sarah Weeks.
