On the 26th and 27th of October 2022, the JROTC Jaguar Battalion held their monthly Cadet Promotion Board. Jaguar Battalion Hosts Drill Meet

Area Three Drill Meet 2017 By: Sarai Narvaez The Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion Drill Team hosted the 23rd Annual Area Three Drill Meet. The Best School Overall was determined by the combined scores of the male and female drill teams.  The Jaguar Battalion Drill Team competed against 18 other schools and earned first place overall. Jaguar battalion honors Martin Luther King Jr.

The Jaguar Battalion of Port St. Lucie High School participated in the recent parade honoring one of America’s greatest civil rights leaders, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The Jaguar Battalion stretched over two city blocks and received many accolades from the spectators. The Jaguar Battalion was a very notable feature of this parade. The battalion was led by the Battalion Commander, cadet Lieutenant Colonel Matthew Jacobson, followed by the battalion Color Guard, the battalion staff and the three companies. Jaguar Battalion Holds Car Wash

On Saturday, October 10th, cadets from Port St. Lucie High School participated in a car wash fundraising event at O’Reilly’s Auto Parts. The generosity of O’Reillys enabled the cadets to raise money by washing cars, all within the safety guidelines taking COVID-19 into consideration. The fundraiser was a success due to the abundance of cars the cadets were able to wash.  Everything flowed smoothly as the cadets established a system of getting cars through the washing and drying stations. Jaguar Battalion holds annual chili cook-off

The Port St. Lucie Moose Lodge hosted the annual chili cook-off recently with the help of cadets of Port St. Lucie High School’s JROTC. Cadets labeled the bowls of chili and served them to the voters. Six pots of chili were entered, and five of those six were entered by a cadet or parent from the Jaguar Battalion. Jaguar Battalion Flag Retirement Ceremony 2017

Flag Retirement Ceremony 2017 By: Sarai Narvaez The Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion held its annual Service Learning event, a U.S. Flag Retirement ceremony, at the school.  The Jaguars retired unserviceable American Flags in accordance with the U.S. Flag Code.  The Jaguars’ Band took part in the ceremony playing Taps, reveille, retreat, and the National Anthem. Jaguar Battalion First Major Honor Guard

On Friday, August 19th, 2022, the Port St. Lucie High School JROTC Jaguar Battalion conducted a Football Honor Guard and Color Guard for our first home football game. We had a total of 78 cadets who came to direct cars for parking at the Honor Guard. Our first-year JROTC cadets had the opportunity to work alongside their leaders and learn how a parking detail works. Jaguar Battalion Exceeds the Standard

On February 14th, the Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion was inspected to see if they qualify to stay as an Honor Unit with Distinction. The JROTC Program for Accreditation (JPA) is an inspection from the United States Army to determine whether a unit can keep their gold star. The gold star is earned by the units that have demonstrated exceptional performance in all areas of program operation. Jaguar Battalion Drill Team – First Place

The Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion Drill Team hosted the 22nd Annual Area Three Drill Meet. Best school overall was determined by the combined scores of the male and female drill teams. Our drill team competed against 18 other schools, and earned First Place overall. The Jaguars did an outstanding job and will be training hard for the Florida State Final Drill Competition in Lakeland, FL on April 15th-16th. Congratulations to all of the cadets.

Jaguar Battalion December Promotion Board

On the 30th of November and the 1st of December 2022, the JROTC Jaguar Battalion held their monthly Cadet Promotion Board. During the Promotion Board, selected cadets throughout all companies are asked a series of questions that test their general knowledge on what they have learned in JROTC, their ability to recite our Cadet Creed, showing proper uniform wear, setting up a uniform, and conducting certain drill movements. They must meet these requirements to receive a promotion to a higher rank. The promotion board was an enormous success with a 73 percent promotion rate throughout all companies.

Jaguar Battalion Continues to Save Lives

On Wednesday, March 29th, the Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion conducted our final Blood Drive of the school year. With help from our Cadets, we were able to run the Blood Drive smoothly and efficiently. Thanks to our Cadets, members of One Blood as well as our teachers and staff here at Port Saint Lucie High School, we were able to collect enough blood to save over 200+ lives.

Jaguar Battalion Conducts Last Car Wash of the Year

On Saturday, March 30th, 2024, the Port St. Lucie High School JROTC Jaguar Battalion conducted their last car wash of the school year at O’Reilly’s located off US-1. Cadets were placed in different teams such as the wash team, dry team, and sign holding teams. It was a great success and a good way for our first-year Cadets to see how we give back to our community.

Jaguar Battalion Cleans the Community!

On Saturday, March 25th, 2023, Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion cadets conducted a car wash fundraising event at O’Reilly’s Auto Parts. Cadets were split into 2 different groups of washing and drying in order to get through as many cars efficiently. Our cadets were able to successfully wash many cars over the span of four hours.

Jaguar Battalion Cleans the City

On Saturday, April 13th the Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion conducted their yearly Service Learning project with the help of “Keep Port St. Lucie Beautiful”. This year’s project was held at Floresta Elementary School, in Port St. Lucie FL. For this project cadets cleaned the roads and sidewalks around the school. The cadets split into 3 teams going in different directions of the school. In the end, the cadets managed to collect 8 bags of garbage and had a great time cleaning up the city of Port St. Lucie.  

Jaguar Battalion Change of Command

On Wednesday, April 24th at 6:30 PM, the Port St. Lucie High School JROTC Jaguar Battalion hosted our Annual Change of Command Ceremony, Relinquishing the current Battalion Commander c/LTC Michael Coccaro of his duty and welcoming c/LTC Tamiya Ferguson to command and lead the Jaguar Battalion on a successful path for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. The Change of Command is a simple traditional event that is rich with symbolism and heritage.  The key to the change of command is the passing of the unit’s colors, symbolizing the commander’s responsibility to the organization. Jaguar Battalion Car Wash

  The Port Saint Lucie High School JROTC Jaguar Battalion had its first car wash of the year at the Auto Zone on US1, on August 27, 2016. The car washes help the Battalion raise money for field trips, competitions, and numerous other things. We had lots of people show up and support us. The cadets were out volunteering for 6 hours, and received community service hours. The cadets raised almost $300.

Jaguar Battalion cadets earn excellence awards

Port St. Lucie High School’s Jaguar ROTC Battalion hosted its 16thannual award ceremony where various awards were presented to deserving cadets. The awardees are selected based on exceptional JROTC performance and superior physical fitness, but a prerequisite for each award is academic excellence. The entire battalion gathered in the auditorium, anxious to learn who earned one or more of the various awards presented at the ceremony, such as the Sons of the American Revolution award, presented to cadet Captain Alex Seipel. Jaguar Battalion and the Martin Luther King Parade

On January 16th, 2023, The Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion participated in a parade to honor the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Cadets marched along Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd beginning from Lincoln Park Academy and finishing at Lawnwood Elementary. The Battalion was led by Battalion Commander Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Elena Garcia, trailed by the battalion staff and the battalion companies. Over 145 cadets participated in the Parade in remembrance of Martin Luther King Jr.’s outstanding achievements.

Jaguar Battalion 30th Annual Award Ceremony

On Wednesday, March 27th, 2024, the Port St. Lucie High School JROTC Jaguar Battalion held its 30th Annual Award Ceremony. The purpose of this award ceremony was to award deserving Cadets for their service, loyalty, personal appearance, character, and knowledge of JROTC, as well as their outstanding achievements in and outside the program. Select Cadets were recognized by different Veteran organizations such as MOAA, Vietnam Veterans of America, Korean War Veterans, etc… The ceremony was a success as we were able to recognize over 100+ cadets for their outstanding achievements.

Jaguar Battalion 29th Annual Award Ceremony

On Wednesday, March 23rd, 2023, the Port Saint Lucie High School JROTC Jaguar Battalion held its 29th Annual Award Ceremony. The purpose of this award ceremony was to award deserving Cadets for their service, loyalty, personal appearance, character, and knowledge of JROTC, as well as their outstanding achievements in and outside the program. Over 40 awards were presented to our Cadets by many Veteran organizations from the nation.
