Jaguar Battalion Exceeds the Standard

On February 14th, the Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion was inspected to see if they qualify to stay as an Honor Unit with Distinction. The JROTC Program for Accreditation (JPA) is an inspection from the United States Army to determine whether a unit can keep their gold star. The gold star is earned by the units that have demonstrated exceptional performance in all areas of program operation. The Army inspects these operations which include; a Continuous Improvement briefing where we discuss an area in need of improvement, a Service-Learning briefing that allows our cadets to help the community while tying it back to what they are being taught in their JROTC class, cadet and instructor portfolios which give an opportunity to inspect and discuss work from our JROTC curriculum, a Color Guard presentation and a Platoon marching presentation to show off our best cadets and some of the skills they have learned, and finally a supply inspection to ensure the Jaguar Battalion has all necessary supplies to award cadets.

To receive an Honor Unit with Distinction you must achieve a 95%. The Jaguar Battalion passed with a score of 97.9% out of 100%. The inspection was an overall success as our cadets worked very hard toward this goal and it was great to see it pay off.
