Jaguars Take Off!

On October 1st, 2022, the Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Raiders hosted the 1st Raider meet of their season. The Raider competition consisted of 5 events: a 2.3-mile run, 1-mile litter carry, HUMVEE push, constructing and crossing a rope bridge, and tire flip. The Jaguar Battalion male and female teams placed 1st overall and the mixed team placed 2nd. Congrats to all the teams as they compete next week at South Fork High School.

Jaguars Take Home the Win

The Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Raider team competed in Fort Pierce Westwood’s Raider Competition against 17 teams from 7 other schools. The competition consisted of six events: 3 mile team run, Cross Country Rescue, The Raider Fitness Challenge, 200lb tire flip over a 100-meter course, an obstacle course and the One-Rope Bridge event. Before the Cross Country Rescue, everyone takes a written first aid test, during the event the team simulates a casualty by carrying an 80-120lb stretcher over a mile long course while wearing three 30lb ruck sacks. Jaguars State Drill Meet

The Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion traveled to Lakeland, FL to compete in the Florida State Final Drill Competition on April 16th.  Out of the 396 Army JROTC programs in the state of FL 108 schools qualified to compete at the state finals. Jaguars Show Their Pride

The Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion showed their pride at the annual Martin Luther King, Junior Day parade in Fort Pierce. Marching in this parade is a tremendous honor and privilege for Port Saint Lucie High. The Battalion formation was led by the Jaguar’s Color Guard and was commanded by Cadet Sergeant Major Travis Cetin carrying the National Flag. Cadet Captain Savannah Cymbal carried the State Flag. Cadet Private first Class Marco Nadar and Cadet Staff Sergeant Damilola Jolaogun posted as Guards. Jaguars Salute the Seniors

The Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion opened the annual senior pinning ceremony for the class of 2016 at the Port Saint Lucie Civic Center. Cadet Command Sergeant Major Jamie Triplett led the Color Guard presenting the national flag, Cadet Captain Savannah Cymbal presented the state flag, and standing as the guards were Cadet Major Julian Taft and Cadet Captain Kaylee Zuidema. The Color Guard gave a great presentation of the colors to begin the ceremony. Congratulations to all the senior Jaguars of 2016 who were pinned at the ceremony.

Jaguars Reign Supreme at Drill State Qualifier

Jaguars Present Colors for Senior Pinning

On Wednesday, February 8th at Port St. Lucie High School, the Senior Class of 2023 celebrated their final year in High School with a senior pinning event. During this year’s ceremony, the auditorium was filled with parents and supporters. Port St. Lucie High School was honored to include guest speaker, Dr. Adrian Ocampo. The Jaguar Battalion presented the Colors for the senior class of 2023. Cadet Captain Michael Coccaro as National Flag Bearer, Cadet First Sergeant Eathan Clayton as State Flag Bearer, Cadet Captain Isaac Mendez as the Right Guard, and Cadet First Sergeant Jeremiah Davis as the Left Guard.

Jaguars place second in marksmanship match

The Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion hosted this year’s Treasure Coast Air Rifle Match sponsored by American Legion Post 318. This competition was made possible by the continuous support of the American Legion Post 318, which provided the competition’s trophies and medals. Competing against four other schools in St. Lucie County, Port St. Lucie placed second overall. This was a standard shoulder-to-shoulder match, shooting the three standard shooting positions: standing, kneeling and prone. On Saturday, November 11th, all cadets from the Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion participated in the Veterans Day ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park to honor veterans who have served and continue to serve our country. Everyone was gathered at 1030hrs (10:30 AM) in formation as they spoke about the history and importance of Veterans Day. The cadets were honored to pay respect to our veterans.

Jaguars Lead the Way!!!

The Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion attended an away Raider challenge at Camp Tanah Keeta, hosted by Jupiter High School, on Oct 23rd.  Schools throughout St. Lucie, Martin, Okeechobee, and Palm Beach counties participated in this meet. The Raider competition consisted of 5 events: a 1.7-mile run, 1-mile Litter carry, Gas can carry, Tire Flip, and constructing, and crossing a rope bridge. The Jaguar Battalion Males and Females captured 1st place overall.

Jaguars Honor the Veterans

On Saturday, November 11th, 2024, all of the Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion’s cadets participated in the Veterans Day ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park to honor veterans who have served and continue to serve our country. Everyone gathered at 1030hrs (10:30 AM) and began the ceremony at 1100hrs (11:00 AM). The cadets gathered in the formation with their company while they learned the history and importance of Veterans Day. The cadets were honored to pay their respects to the veterans and to be part of such an important event. 

Jaguars Excel at State Raider Competition

On November 13th, the Port St. Lucie High School Army JROTC Jaguar Battalion attended The Florida State Raider Meet in Lake Wales. The Raider competition consisted of 5 events: a 3-mile run, 1-mile Litter carry, Fitness test, Tire Flip, and Constructing, and crossing a rope bridge. The Male team came in 3rd place in the fitness challenge. The female team captured their first-ever State Championship in the Rope Bridge Event and 2nd place in Tire Flip. Both teams qualified for Nationals Raider Meet next year in Molena, GA.  

Jaguars Excel at Drill Competition

On Friday, January 21st, 2022, the Jaguar Battalion started their Drill season by traveling to Santaluces High School. Our female and male team competed in an unarmed/armed squad, color guard, and solo/duo exhibition drill. PSL ended up placing 1st in both male and female armed squad, 2nd for female color guard, 3rd for female unarmed squad, and 3rd for female dual exhibition. Overall, the Jaguar Battalion finished 1st and it was a great way to start our Drill season.
