Sebastian Suarez was joined by his family and administrators from Lincoln Park Academy as Superintendent E. Wayne Gent and School Board Members recognized him for earning his the Congressional Award Gold Medal.  Established into law in 1979, the Congressional Award was created to honor, encourage, and inspire America’s youth. To earn the Gold Medal, Suarez, a senior, completed 400 hours of Voluntary Public Service, 200 hours of Personal Development, and 200 hours of Physical Fitness. FPL Sponsors Show for SLWK-8 K-2 Students

On Tuesday, October 4, The National Theatre for Children came to our school and performed for our K-2 students. They performed an energy show sponsored by FPL titled Captain Wattage. Captain Wattage solved the mystery about who was stealing energy. (It was Vivica Voltage!) The boys and girls (and teachers) loved it!

Fort Pierce Westwood Veterinary Students Support Rescue Effort

Fort Pierce Westwood Veterinary students were at the St. Lucie International Airport on October 5th to support in the arrival of a plane from Puerto Rico carrying animals in need of homes and care. The veterinary students along with their teacher, Whitney Uribe, helped to unload the animals from the plane, unload them from their carriers for examination, as well as support the veterinarian with their examinations. That support included completing paperwork, getting the medication requested by the vet ready, as well as the vaccines as requested by the vet. PBIS Bus Driver Luncheon

Allapattah Flats hosted its annual PBIS BUS DRIVER LUNCHEON on Friday, September 29, 2017. APFK8 served their drivers with great enthusiasm and appreciation for all that they do every day to keep their Gators safe! The drivers enjoyed a special drawing and a delicious lunch along with a lot of laughter and fun! We truly appreciate our APFK8 drivers and supervisors!

BMX at White City Elementary

John Parker, famous BMX rider, visited White City Elementary.  During his presentation, he discussed the spokes of good character, motion, and speed.  It was a fun, energizing, and thrilling presentation.  

Fort Pierce Westwood’s Tuesday Leadership Club Service Project

Fort Pierce Westwood’s Tuesday Leadership Club (TLC) met for their first 2017/18 service project. TLC members stuffed 50 donated backpacks with school supplies for Panther students in need. TLC is a student driven group which develops positive leadership and characteristics to enhance themselves, their school and their community at large. The students involved with this service project are Trey Doilvien, Kenneshia Murriel, Matilde Mendez, Vanessa Vazquez, Kristina Thomas, Alvin Paschal, and Pharah St. Louis. Fall Is in the Air!

Happy Fall! Students in Melanie Francisco’s kindergarten class loved working on a unit about apples. They measured, experimented, and used their five senses to investigate them. Jackson Mallonee, Elijah Josheph, Everette Robinson, and Tabitha Smith agreed that the best part of the unit was making homemade applesauce.
