It’s National Take-Your-Child-to-the-Library Day! So at Manatee Academy that means families come out on a chilly Saturday morning and enjoy free world-famous, yummy chocolate-chip pancakes (by Chef Remington in pink), juice, prizes, and our fabulous library! 6th through 8th grade students at Oak Hammock K8 School participated in an induction ceremony for the National Junior Honor Society. The purpose of this organization is to promote leadership and build character among middle school students. Students are also provided with an opportunity to grow academically as they prepare for upper-level classes in high school. Members of the NJHS will serve as leaders of the student body as they Level up Learning, Level Up Success!

On Friday, October 23rd, NASA Engineer George “Gabe” Gabrielle, came to Samuel Gaines Academy to speak with our students about space travel.  He taught Mr. Davino’s AVID classes about the NASA facilities, preparing them for their upcoming 8th grade field trip to Kennedy Space Center in November.  Mr. Gabrielle also had a chance to speak with the students in SGA’s 21st Century Program. Both groups enjoyed the presentation and had many questions for him about the wonders of space travel.

Forest Grove Middle School had over 400 students participate in our Nacho Average Student celebration. What does this mean for our school and our students? It means that these students were either proficient (Level 3,4,5s) and/or made significant gains from the PM1 to the PM2/Mid-Year assessments. Lisa Weil and Karol Carvelli’s reading class at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition was visited by mystery reader Adam Jones, a Port St. Lucie businessman.  Mr. Jones, a long- time resident in the area and British national shared his knowledge of English pounds and read from the novel, “Around the World in 80 Days.” Students ate British scones while listening to Jones’ interpretation of Phileas Fogg.  Pictured, left, is Mr. Jones with students from the class and Karol Carvelli, back right.

Lakewood Park Elementary MySchool fourth-graders enjoyed a PBIS event using Microsoft OneNote and TEAMS. Ms. Beaumier keeps track of student and class behavior using  Falcon Bank. Once the students have earned a certain amount of Falcon Bucks they get to choose what activity they want to do by voting with Microsoft Poll.  Students choose to design and build a virtual Gingerbread house. #FalconPride #FalconKind #HeartOfThePark
