Potato Power at Oak Hammock K-8

Hakeem Mustfata, 6th Grade student at Oak Hammock K-8 was chosen to be a 2021 Broadcom nominee from the District for his science fair project called Potato Power. The project tested how much electricity could be produced along with the amount of time power was produced from cooked and uncooked potatoes. Hakeem’s science fair project was one of seven from the District to move on to the State’s Science Fair. The Port Saint Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion recently participated in a Dreamfest held by Discovery Church at the Port Saint Lucie Civic Center. As part of the ceremony, the church honored veterans by having the cadet Color Guard present the national flag while members of the church sang the National Anthem and America the Beautiful. The Florida Department of Education released the Grade 3 ELA Scores, and the percent of Grade 3 students in St. Lucie Public Schools (SLPS) continues to rise with scores increasing another three percent this year. Positive Partner for Vet Tech

Fort Pierce Westwood’s Veterinary Tech program welcomes CORE Contents Restoration’s partnership and support.  The company’s generous donation of supplies will support various activities within the Veterinary Tech program and will contribute to the fund raising efforts of an anesthesia machine. This purchase will help achieve the goal of opening a surgery center on campus to expand student opportunities for learning and growth. On Saturday December 8, 2018, the Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion’s Color Guard lead the procession with the National Colors and the Puerto Rican Flag in the 2nd Annual Puerto Rican Day Parade of St. Lucie County. Students in Lori Kennedy’s fifth grade enrichment class at St. Lucie West K8 School recently wrote letters to city officials regarding concerns they had about issues in the area. Port St. Lucie’s Drill Team Attends 1st Competition of the Season!

On Friday, January 18, 2019, Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion’s Army JROTC Drill Team attended the Santaluces Community High School Army JROTC drill meet in Lantana, FL. Cadets competed in male and female squads and color guard. Port St Lucie Technical Design Students Create Flash Drive Organizers

John Picchiarini, Port St Lucie High Technical Design instructor and his students had a big problem to solve. Students needed a dependable yet accessible place to save their Autocad designs and computer work.  Flash drives solved the problem but they needed a home.  The student team used critical thinking skills and 3D Printer to create flash drive organizer.  Wow!  Stay tuned for more to come from the Technical Design crew including Race Cars in May.  Level Up CTE!
