Riverside Community Theatre Presents to Floresta Elementary for PBIS

On May 8, as part of Floresta Elementary’s Positive Behavior Intervention Support Program, Riverside Community Theatre presented to all grade 2-5 students, the performance entitled “The Wolf and Its Shadows.” Based on Aesop’s fable “The Dog and the Wolf,” the play weaves together stories about wolves, dogs, and humans, and includes tales from Russian, Tlingit, English, Inuit and German folklore. Rivers Edge students, staff and parents enjoy Gardening Day

Gardens are brimming over with blooms at Rivers Edge Elementary School! Students in Denise Ward’s second grade class worked tirelessly in the welcoming entry garden. Generous donations of mulch and new blooms from Lowe’s, along with students and parent contributions, helped spruce up all the beautiful campus and classroom gardens. Rivers Edge Students Showcase What’s Poppin’ in Quarter 1

Rivers Edge Elementary continued its new Classroom Connections initiative with a flavorful and engaging event — the Popcorn Pop-Up — giving families a firsthand look at the exciting learning happening in classrooms during the first quarter. Rivers Edge students learn lessons about giving

The annual Giving Tree program at Rivers Edge Elementary made the season a little brighter for six local organizations. Each grade group decorates a tree and collects gifts and much needed items for a chosen organization. Represented this year were the Humane Society, Castle, Care-Net, Quantum House, Sarah’s Kitchen and the U.S. Military. Pictured is Lt.Col. Rivers Edge students cast their votes

On election day, Rivers Edge Elementary students in third through fifth grade cast their vote for President at precinct 0381 in the school’s computer labs. Students were successful in predicting Barack Obama as the winner based on their votes.

Rivers Edge PTO Surprises Staff with a Sweet Treat!

In celebration of the end of 3rd and 4th Grade testing, the Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) committee from the PTO of Rivers Edge Elementary surprised the entire staff with a sweet treat. Scrumptious cupcakes from The Cake Lady (located in downtown Ft. Pierce) were distributed to the entire staff on Thursday afternoon. The RAK committee pops up once a month to remind the staff how much they are appreciated!

Rivers Edge PTO hosts amazing Spring Fling!

The PTO of Rivers Edge Elementary hosted an amazing Spring Fling for families on Friday, May 22! Hot dogs, chips, and drinks gave students and their families energy for the multitude of activities going on. From the basketball tournament to dancing to the free carnival games – families had a great night out!

Rivers Edge Kicks Off Year Reading & Believing

Rivers Edge Elementary Otters had an outstanding first week. Beginning their day reading plays an important role in creating a superb way to begin their day and year. Staff and parents both are thrilled that students are increasing their fluency while beginning their day in a quiet manner. Our Staff was thrilled to receive t-shirts with our theme for the year – “Believe.” Joining together to believe in our students and each other to find a way (or make a way) to keep our school outstanding!  

Rivers Edge Families Enjoy Movie Under the Stars!

On Friday, April 10, the Rivers Edge PTO hosted a Family Movie Night outside in the PE area of the school. Free to all who attended, everyone received a popcorn and a drink to enjoy while watching Monsters University. Kona Ice was on hand as well as other treats that could be purchased by the parents and students. PTO provided bug repellent and the weather cooperated making the night a perfect family time!        

Rivers Edge Elementary Truly has a Heart of Gold!

The Giving Tree is held each December. Each grade collects donations for a charity. A member representing the charity is then invited to the Giving Tree Ceremony and presented with the items collected. Kindergarten collected food items for Backpack Buddies; First Grade collected toys and gifts for Hibiscus House; Second Grade collected household items for Quantum House; Third grade collected items for pets to be given to the Humane Society and Caring Fields; Fourth Grade collected items for C.A.S.T.L.E and fifth grade collected items for Military personnel.

Rivers Edge Elementary students spread holiday cheer

 Rivers Edge Elementary School leadership class students visited a local nursing home to spread some joy for the holidays.  They sang carols, and served punch and cookies, along with distributing gifts to all the residents.  The students were encouraged to chat with the residents and left with stories, full hearts and a few new friends!  Pictured is Mackenzie Jock, from Melinda White’s fifth grade class, spreading a little cheer as she speaks with one of the residents. Also pictured are fifth graders Megan Massey and Carley Johnson.  Thank you leadership team for bringing miles of smiles to share!  

Rivers Edge Elementary students learn about the Coast Guard

Officers from the United States Coast Guard station in Ft. Pierce visited Rivers Edge Elementary School recently to discuss water safety and the role of the United States Coast Guard with students in all first grade classes. The students were extremely excited to get on board the 25ft RBS SAFE boat. Rivers Edge Elementary Launches All Pro Dad Chapter

Rivers Edge Elementary recently celebrated the official launch of its new All Pro Dad chapter on Friday, September 19th with an impressive turnout of nearly 70 fathers, father-figures, and students.  The event marked the beginning of a year-long initiative aimed at strengthening family bonds and promoting character development through monthly themed gatherings. Attendees enjoyed breakfast together before diving into this month’s theme: Consistency. Rivers Edge Elementary kindergartners learn about pumpkins

Students in Lisa Bradley’s kindergarten class at Rivers Edge Elementary School recently picked their own pumpkins from the school’s Ppumpkin patch. Students counted pumpkin seeds, weighed and measured, learned about the growth cycle and sorted shapes to make decorative faces as they ended their unit on Cornucopia.

Rivers Edge Elementary hosts successful student food drive
