Savanna Ridge Elementary’s Grandparents/Caring Adults Day

In celebration of Grandparents Day, SRE welcomed Grandparents and Caring Adults to muffins and activities in their little Cranes’ classroom. Each classroom provided guests with entertainment varying from songs, read-alouds, to performances and crafts. SRE was excited to host this event and looks forward to many more family events this year!

Savanna Ridge Elementary’s Fall Math Competition

Savanna Ridge Elementary hosted our Fall Math Competition for grades K-5. Students in each grade level participated in the competition filled with grade-level math skill questions. Students enjoyed competing against their classmates and look forward to our upcoming Spring Math Competition.

Savanna Ridge Elementary students Enjoy Bringing Their Fathers to School

Students enjoyed bringing their fathers and important male role models to Savanna Ridge Elementary’s “Donuts with Dads” as part of the Million Father March initiative throughout the county.  Over 80 male role models came out to enjoy donuts and sign pledges.  We were ecstatic to see the pride and smiles on each child’s face as they entered school with their fathers.

Savanna Ridge Elementary celebrates Literacy Week with special events

Savanna Ridge Elementary had an exciting week of activities for this year’s Literacy Week. Students participated in buddy reading, where they were paired up with other students and read together. They also had engaging conversations about books while enjoying a snack during “chew and chat.” Families were invited to the school for “Books and Baked Ziti Night,” where parents participated in literacy stations where they learned how to incorporate reading at home, valuable online resources, and how to utilize our print rich environment. Savanna Ridge Elementary Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month!

Saturday With Scientists

Students from Weatherbee, St. Lucie Elementary, White City, and Chester A. Moore explore force and motion as well as reflection and refraction at the Saturday With a Scientist program led by Erin Squires and Kyle Cobb. This program takes place at Indian River State College with groups of fifth graders from across all schools and is organized by the Office of Teaching and Learning’s Paul Reif.  

Saturday with a Scientist for VGESS 5th graders

This was an eventful experience with students from St. Lucie Public Schools. Students had the opportunity of meeting with noteworthy scientists who dedicated their time to meet on a Saturday. The day was filled with a planetarium view of fabulous planets, stars, the moon, constellations, and the sun. Students also had an opportunity of extracting DNA from a strawberry, and exploring fossils. The student highlight was the robotics presentation. Students had hands-on experience with the robot and learned about the components and creation of the robot’s movement. It was mathematical as well as scientific. Saturday with a Scientist: A Fun and Educational Day at IRSC!

On April 27th and May 4th, fifth-grade students from various elementary schools in St. Lucie County had an exciting opportunity to participate in the Saturday with a Scientist event hosted by Indian River State College. Let’s take a quick look at what they experienced. Planetarium Exploration: The students gathered at the planetarium, where they learned about the vastness of our universe, constellations, and the wonders of space. DNA Extraction Adventure: In smaller groups, the students got hands-on with DNA extraction from strawberries. Saturday Science Camp at Lawnwood Elementary

SAT Available to All SLPS Juniors

Santa’s Visit To Village Green

Village Green Elementary School’s PBIS Committee hosted a “Pancakes with Santa” breakfast for students and their families. Our Village Green community was able to spend a morning with Santa and his special elf while enjoying a delicious breakfast and fun Christmas crafts. It was a magical and festive morning!

Santa arrives by fire truck at Palm Pointe

Santa arrives at Palm Pointe Educational Research School @ Tradition by fire truck for the annual “Breakfast with Santa” event. Students are there to greet him when he arrives and to show him where to go for the breakfast, crafts and pictures.  This is a wonderful event for the families each year and this year was no exception.  The food was delicious, the crafts were fun, the face painting was awesome and the pictures with Santa were great!
